Or an "illusionist" NPC like in Grim Dawn/Diablo 3/etc. That way you don't need to keep a copy of every armor/etc around to put in the cosmetic slots.

You can actually see on the map exactly where Iron ore is located in the open world once you know what to look for and it helps to zoom the map all the way in it is akind of a dark spot.

The frist dungen to the left of where you start have tons of iron and dark ore but level of monsters raises as you progress further in. All ore respawns so just leave and come back.

In the start I would search for copper first there is alot of it alittle more south / southwest.
