This is not exactly true.

Whenever you sleep, you have a small chance of learning a new recipe for building/cooking and a slightly higher chance of learning some magic

To guarantee spells whenever you sleep, get the feat Dream Waker. Level 2 increases the spells you get per sleep tier 3 gives advanced spells.

The type of magic is based off your domain, which is chosen by class (as Bobucles said).

If you read random books, there is a high chance it's a spell book (if you don't have identifying unlocked, won't tell you more about it unless you want me to).

Ah right, so its the deep sleeper trait randomly giving me some spells?
