Isnt there artifact which gives stealth ?
Also they can still trigger ambush if enemy go into fog of war blindly

Btw, I discovered a bug recently:

One of the 1 mirror image of Dolos did not die by itself while it prevented resting, raiding & change of item to happen....Anyway, after 1 turn, all would go back to normal.

In Steam shop in description of the Monster Hunter Stories (part 1), there is directly stated, that:
"Things take a dark turn when a cataclysm known as the Black Plague arrives, threatening the entire world and shattering the peace that has been taken for granted…" (Google translated to english from my localisation).
And there is Naviru in the trailer.
And in the part 2 (MHS 2) Naviru directly states that he worked with the legendary rider, and they stoped the Black Plague (or was it the Black Blight? - not sure, i have it in my langauge, not english), but he does not known the Grandfather, the stories that Alvin tells about the players Grandfather are new to Naviru, so... yeah

About when the 1-st game is happening relative to Grandfater timeline... i have no idea... but i always thought, that the 1st game happened loong before the Grandfather of the 2nd game player.

Did they fix goo & ash piles in F4 ?

I suppose it depends on whether or not they seem to retain the body's inventory (suggesting that the body still exists) or are just there without an inventory (suggesting they've hung around on their own).

There is no inventory in the ash pile. I am not in the game right now, but there may be other ash piles and goo piles that have persisted for a long time.

I will note that certain dead bodies that hang around do respawn loot. Those are Lucy Abernathy and the Vault-Tec Rep at Abernathy Farm, and Deirdre at The Slog. All are dead merchants that never got to do any trading with my character.

There are many other dead bodies around that will not go away.
