Besides which what I was criticising was people saying "X alignment would always do this specific thing and nothing else." Which, in my opinion, is just bad role-playing. You create a character, you don't just pick an off-the-rack archetype.
Now, of course there are limits and yes, killing a whole bunch of innocents for no reason is obviously evil. But extremes do not counteract the basic concept.

At the point the player gets to the goblin camp I wouldn't say any of them are innocent.
Even their kids are torturing prisoners.
(Also if you read the Drizzit books his wife also mentions in one that goblinoids & orcs being evil is the norm because their Gods created them as such so a good one is extremely abnormal (and usually killed by the others very young), Drow meanwhile were just elves to start with before Lolth got a hold of them so their morality is due more to environment.
We don't know exactly how the gith came about but we do know their "god" is just a powerful lich. So they again are likely evil due to environment)

So killing all the goblins, bug bears etc... is fine morals wise.
Any left alive would just be monsters who hate non goblinoids anyway and have even more reason to since their tribes leaders got whacked.

The Gith if given the option to could argued to be spared if they agreed to leave but they never would so again moot point.

I don't recall Cattie-Brie saying any such thing but if she did, well, she is a very admirable person but she doesn't know everything. Goblinoids and orcs are no more inherently evil than drow are. Just like the drow it is a matter of culture.
As an example I present the nation of Thesk. Bit of backstory here; Faerun was being invaded by the Tuigan horde, the local version of the Mongols. A bunch of nations contributed troops to stop them, even ones that would normally be enemies. In particular the Zhentarim pitched in but, not wanting to risk their own troops, they hired a bunch of orc tribes and magically transported them to the eastern nation of Thesk to join the alliance. After the Tuigan were defeated the Zhents couldn't be bothered to transport them back, leaving the orcs stranded in Thesk. If orcs were inherently evil the result should have been orcs rampaging about. Instead the Theskians (who had never really encountered orcs before) saw them as heroes who had saved them from Tuigan. The orcs found they rather liked this and decided to settle down, becoming peaceful and well respectful members of society. Their descendants are still there, a whole bunch of orcs (and by now a lot of half-orcs) living as Theskians no better or worse than the humans.
All they needed was a chance to break the usual cycles.
We do, in fact, know how the Gith came about; they were slaves bred by the Illithids until the Mind Flayers made the mistake of making their psionic abilities powerful enough that they could resist domination. They rebelled and wrecked the Illithid empire but then fell to fighting among themselves over philosphical issues, with the Githyanki wanting to replace the Illithid empire with an empire of their own and the Githzerai wanting to continue fighting the Mind Flayers while focusing on self-improvement. Notably there is no physical difference between the two. Again, it's cultural.
In the specific you are observably incorrect; if you just kill the goblins' leaders the group breaks up and the result is the same as if you kill them all.

Yea the combat power is a huge toxic gatekeeper!

every game becomes ♥♥♥♥, if devs lied to the gamer, they told all pvp is optional but its not and thats it, i think is the main reason for it, after you played and start to loving the game it hits much harder to see that they lied to you to push sales, so people now love the game but hate the aspekt they where lied for sales. maybe its that sipmle, and playtime say nothing about it.
