Well Kubold his normally way more responsive to feedback than this so it was odd that he spent a whole month ignoring feedback and not testing his updates.

Maybe and if so on the lowest settings with. But you will have no fun at all. Something like an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU or AMD Radeon RX 560 GPU, an Intel Core i5-6350HQ or AMD Ryzen 7 3700U CPU, and 8GB of RAM would be much better. I mean the game is free. Just download it and try.

Unfortunately, most 4x games implement some advantages for AI. An increase in AI difficulty does not make them "smarter", it just gives them bonus percentages to income and production and so on.
