The main issue you're having is that you're not placing Hunter's Mark on the chimps, and you're also fighting them outside of your dead zone. You need to not fight them on the cushion, and focus on the Bram Stoker area while getting into range and using line of sight.

Start off with a Quickhack such as Short Circuit or Contagion, and follow it up with a biotic/tech combo such as Warp and Overload - then send in your Nod Buggy to kite them to the island.

Your Commander and other KBots should do most of the heavy lifting here, and have him use Quietus along with a Tome of Power before going into VATS for the finishing move.

If all else fails cast Soultrap followed up by Dragonrend and make sure your Holoduke still has plenty of time left on it before finishing it off with the Soul Cube.

AoM Retold has the most customizable AI among Age games, a legendary campaign, and someone even added Direct strike from SC2 as a fully fledged game mode and it's not enough. Meanwhile AoE4 has pretty bad AI and campaigns but it's doing far better.

But it is enough. The game sold sold a lot of copies last I heard. It had 25k player peak. I know a certain other RTS that would kill for those numbers right now.

But it's not a lifeservice to maintain those numbers indefinitely. And thank gods for that.

The reason is small maps and fast TTK, so it doesn't feel like BF6 to you.
