It's a visual bug- of the desync kind. Someone harvested it already, but since your comp didn't see it the sever side still reports it as being there.

This 100%. The patch on the 12th is supposed to fix this according to the notes. Phantom sand is just a player that was there before you. It could even be a node you harvested a little bit earlier, logged out, logged back in, and now see the spice again. Once the server clears it then you wont see it again even if you relog.

A solution was found fairly quickly to this phenomenon by utilising the GameSetting.ini and Setting.ini files that are located in the installation folder for Battlefield. After they have been found, replace these three values with the one’s listed below, this will give a more stable sound structure and audio output.

soundsystemsize=2 (found in GameSetting.ini)

quality=medium

speakercount=2 (found in Setting.ini)

Once these settings are in place, save both of the files and load up Battlefield, with any luck the problem should be fixed and PC enthusiasts can once again play BF:BC2 without any pause or sound problem.

And... if i don't have those files in folder?? :/

Hi, so I finally found the culprit for these errors, or at least that's what I hope. I pushed a new update with a fix for the z4novaboss patch, so please see if it now works properly. If not then be sure to report it! Thanks!

The "Protect the Border" mission is notoriously broken for as long as the game has existed. Sometimes it's just impossible to complete it, especially the first time you get it
It's not story critical. If you fail it, you will get it again. Maybe every time depending how often you visit Army Warehouses
You get lots of random-generated missions in SoC all the time, usually when changing levels
Random missions also have a habit of magically completing themselves, again usually when changing levels
Time-based missions are also the timer for how long you have to collect the reward, or they will still fail even if you complete the objective. Naturally game loves to have traders on opposite side of game world give you random missions
100% is basically impossible, or very difficult, since the random missions will happen forever and usually in far away maps

Is it common knowledge (and I didn't get the memo) that you get less (if any) exp for some task at speed lower than 3x?

i.e.
Scorchlander Armor smith level 86 (+40%)
Making leather turtle neck
Consistently gains 1% toward level 87 every 33 in-game minutes at 3x speed. (3% in about 1h40)
And then didn't gain anything in over 2 in-game hours at 2x speed.
