Most of the stuff said in the video today you can find I've said word for word in the past on this forum. From what wins matches, to why they feel unbalanced, to how matches are formed. I had never brought up the individual rating stuff because I had thought that is normal for MOBAs, but a lot of the other stuff I tried to tell these EOMM kids before.

Its probably the best way to do it and why theyre so confident in the resets. Above platinum it starts to be more balanced and the PBSR effect is minimized and its more about W/L. It all makes sense to me. The games I cant carry I love 10-15 points even in plat 2 (havent had a lot of time to play last few weeks) But the wins high 20s to mid 30s gain.

I've always said the matchmaking wasn't bad, and felt mostly fair (I could usually identify the weakpoint in the team or what cost us the match, even if it was me) and it just needs placement matches so we stop doing the crabs-in-a-bucket thing at the start of each season trying to get out of metal ranks.

Also input based matchmaking so controller users aren't facing keyboard and mouse. Controller and Steam Deck should be in console queues; but I digress.

Like currently, even if you don't start Ranked right at the start of the season, you always have the risk of running into GM in Metal; and that's not accounting for smurfs. If everyone has to run a series of Placement matches each season the likelihood of this happening would be MUCH lower

You chose this game because CDPR is "progressive" (which is mealy mouthed for "lady in charge"). Which is toxic enough, for the developers of this game. You choosing this game for all the worst reasons. I feel bad for the developers of this game tbh. They made this game simply for people to enjoy, not conscript into their culture war as a cudgel to bludgeon the games you fear.

Then you admit, in the same breath CDPR's progressive methods aren't all that progressive. (because they aren't) So which one is it? Are they progressive or not? Do you even know what progressive means? Or did you see Ciri as the lead and immediately write an entire game off and hop to the next best thing out of desperation.

I've been debating over whether or not I should get this game. For context, I loved the narrative and character portrayals in the following games:

Soma
This Bed We Made
The Invincible
Of the Devil
Promise Mascot Agency (Pinky in particular)
The Excavation of Hob's Barrow
Silent Hill 1, 2 & 3 (Heather in particular)
Horizon Zero Dawn (but NOT Forbidden West)

I wasn't too big on Life Is Strange (although admittedly I played it many years ago when it came out) and haven't played any other entries in the series.

If you're familiar with the games I've listed and have also played Lost Records I'd be interested to know if you think it's worth it after having played games like that (especially something as masterfully handled as This Bed We Made) or if it's something I should just pass on. I appreciate subtlety in story telling and I'm turned off by overtly obvious or gauche Marvel style Hollywood narratives.

I should mention i also use cabbage enb, although that shouldn't add to the loading time

Everyone knows of this, it's the literal posterboy of "play as the monster" that society refuses to give us more of.

Something so satisfying about absorbing people after grabbing them. It's like you are playing as The Thing. The cool one, not rock man.
