Ha, you're quite right - because there are no sources of ale, the camera tries to jump to a non-existent building, so it goes to coordinates (0, 0, 0), which happens to be inside of a mountain :D Looks like we've got our own null island (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Null_Island)

My impression with the effect the goop had on the branch and Iggy was a speed through of growth into death. It's why Iggy says he's already dead or something, why his affected eye is all glassy, etc. Both the branch and the parts of Iggy's body exposed to the goop sped through the "life cycle" up to and including "death". Beck, meanwhile, only got her hair affected, so didn't get drastic effects other than grey hair.

The reason why it was different every other time we see it is that the goop puddle was either not the finalised version of the goop Solomon used or that it had been affected through leaking out into the woods. So Eleanor and Rolo got a more controlled version than Iggy and the branch, and Solomon got the intended effect from the finalised version (until Beck tampers with it).

I know it’s late to respond to your suggestions, but I want to thank you for sharing them.
I didn’t reply at the time, but I did read your post back in 2024 and have made some changes to the game since then. Not all of your suggestions have been implemented yet, but we did adjust the contrast and text size.

i did it on Tenderfoot difficulty. i've gotten to the peak 7 times before so i thought that it wouldn't be too bad. at least 5 times i thought the Mesa had killed me. i survived on pure luck. no chance of keeping any extra stamina. i had no items or food left. it was way harder than the Kiln. I never thought i'd miss the Alpine, an area know for being the demise of many of my runs.

In fairness, I would have assumed you were baiting which totally fair especially given the absolute cancer nature of off topic these days. However, just my take given your answers in the thread, you're either really sticking to it (troll) or you are actually genuine. Personal opinion I think you're the latter.

I don't really like to troll people harshly. Especially in threads that aren't really suited for it. So, I'm not joking about academic interest.

Academic interest is a nice phrase to get you out of trouble, but it really doesn't answer the question!
