I played the crap out of that game when it was released, there was nothing else like it at the time.... but that was way, way, back in the past.
I even bought it again just to have it in my Steam library. I tried playing it about two years ago but imho it has not aged well. I dislike the strategy side of it. The tactical combat is decent.

I was actually referring to the new generation of XCOM games, which I also have but don't play. I just don't enjoy them.

Not an oversight at all, simply a decision on how to best use the limited ressources they have. Since the giant units all use the male model, enabling the armors for the male giant rulers is basically two clicks and done. Enabling them for any other model is a lot more work, doesn't matter if it's the female giant, normal forms or Eldritch Sovereigns.
Think of it as a little thrown in bonus armor, better to have it for male giants only instead of not having them for any ruler at all, isn't it?

Yeah, no, modern users do drop combos just like anyone else :D

your missing the point , but you have converted me . in fact modern should be buffed, lower damage combos seems really noninclusive and completely unfair.
we should write a petition and get it sorted straight away

it started occuring roughly halfway through my campaign. when I try to embark a force on an empty fleet, it goes to the same menu you would get when the total number of units (already on board+trying to embark) is above twenty and if I transfer an unit, doesn't matter which or how many, and clicked the button to end transferring the transferred units would still be in the army and the fleet would still be empty.

Does your army have Mercenary Sarmatian Light Spearmen units? Could you please try embarking without those units?

Why can we not see the class bins?

I am having the same issue. My friends can get in and off while I seem to be stuck at joining server / queue.

You say you cant compare games under the same producer as if there 'is no basis for assuming the same level of quality...' that doesnt make sense. If EA produces a game, people hold a certain expectation of what the production value and overall quality should be like.

if anybody is shifting blame, its you. I get that you wanna roast the developers, but like you said, they've never developed any other game besides this. That knowledge is openly available. Its up to the customer to take that chance on the product.

You thinking its nonsense for a customer to do any research on a product before purchasing is absurd. Expecting a company to have your best interest in mind above turning a profit is wishful thinking to say the least.

The issue is that, theres no concrete guidelines as towards what 'reasonable expectations of a finished product' are and I guarantee theres always gonna be a sizeable portion of the playerbase begging to just get access to whatever the developer has ready. Cant look past the truth that 'poor business practices' would be not capitalizing on the fact that people are hype to play your game.

Obviously, it would be cool if games released in a perfect state, just like it would be cool if the people at mcdonalds prepared my burger like it looks on the picture. It is what it is, regardless of what it should be.
