Dying Light does use VAC, but it can be turned off in the Options. Doing so locks you out of Multiplayer.
Every game on the Steam store, that uses VAC.
any dev can use any anti cheat, such as VAC, at any time. if you're worried a game is getting an anti cheat put in, that's probably a sign you should stop using mods.
historically some devs have elected not to indicate they're using VAC, and have left it off their store page. that list may not be 100% accurate.
and sidenote - there's no 'warning'. with VAC, trip the anti cheat = permanent ban.
I just got done with MHW which 'allows' mods in MP, so I didn't really even think about it as a potential issue in a SP/co-op game
