Appeal letter: Regarding Overwatch mistakenly blocked due to high DPI settings
Dear Steam Customer Service Team:
Hello!

I encountered a false ban in CS: GO (or CS2), and after self analysis, I believe it may be due to a misjudgment caused by a high DPI setting. Therefore, I am submitting this appeal to you, hoping that you can review and lift the ban.
1. Background of the event
In recent gameplay, I have used a high DPI (mouse sensitivity) for operation. Due to my personal habits, my mouse DPI is much higher than most players, which makes my crosshair movement speed appear unusually fast, even approaching the trajectory of cheats. However, I have never used any third-party cheating software, and all operations are based on personal habits and device settings.
During the gaming process before being banned, my crosshair may have undergone rapid adjustments similar to self aiming due to high DPI settings, which may have led Overwatch supervisors to misunderstand when reviewing recordings, thinking that I was using aiming assistance software (Aimbot) or other cheating tools. But in reality, I only used a highly sensitive mouse setting, and all operations were manually completed by myself, not controlled by external programs.
2. Analysis of possible reasons for incorrect sealing
Based on my game settings and the ban situation, I speculate that the main reasons for the false ban are as follows:
Setting the DPI too high (such as 3200+DPI) can cause the crosshair to move abnormally fast, which may appear as automatic aiming during playback.
Game recordings cannot reflect the actual physical operation of the mouse, and Overwatch supervisors may not be able to determine whether it is a cheat or a high DPI setting when watching replays.
The visual effect of instantly locking onto the target is due to the combination of my hand muscle memory and a highly sensitive mouse, rather than external intervention.
My settings, although different from most players, are entirely based on personal operating habits and do not involve the use of any cheating tools.
3. Basis for proving one's innocence
Steam account record: My account is a long-term main account with no record of cheating behavior.
Screenshot of device settings: I can provide mouse DPI settings and CS: GO internal sensitivity settings to prove that my crosshair movement speed comes from device adjustments, not external plugins.
Past game records: I have been playing normally, and the game data is in line with the growth trend of normal players, with no abnormal record fluctuations.
4. Requests and Expectations
Considering that this ban is a misjudgment, I hope that the Steam official can:
Review my game video and re evaluate it based on the special DPI settings.
Consider lifting my ban, as I have never used any cheats and all gameplay is done manually.
Optimize the Overwatch system to avoid misjudgment issues caused by high DPI settings, in order to prevent other innocent players from suffering similar troubles.
I love CS: GO (CS2) and always adhere to the principle of fair play, never damaging the gaming environment. Therefore, I earnestly request the authorities to review my situation and provide fair treatment. If more supporting documents are needed, I am willing to fully cooperate with the investigation.
Thank you for taking the time to read this appeal. We hope to receive your response!
Sincerely
Salute!

Denied.
The mouse I was using at the time was: Logitech G502 and I tried to play the gyroscope so the DPI was 25600. Many people in China have been wrongfully banned due to high DPIs

No matter how you got the ban, it stays forever.
You ban has been reviewed several times by now ... so ban is still permanent
Of course, I don't have much hope either. Just wish Valve knew about it. Because in China, many people are banned because of high DPI gyro entertainment, which does not upset the balance of the game, it is just that the high DPI makes him look like he is driving something. You can see videos on YouTube that have been tested and banned by bloggers

Hello!

These are user only forums, no service team here, complete waste of time posting here looking to be unbanned

1 game ban on record | Info
494 day(s) since last ban

Game bans are not vac bans and have nothing to do with this forum. CS2 game bans are permanent and cannot be appealed against in any way. Create a new account and start over if you want to play on secure servers once again

Well, I guess I should resign myself to my fate. But I really didn't prescribe anything that affected the balance of the game. Because I've been playing since 2022 and he's my tuba
Sorry to interrupt, I won't reply to this post again
