Project Kryptonite
I was wondering if the overlay called "Project Kryptonite" would get be VAC banned due to how it injects itself into games?

For those who don't know what Project Kryptonite it is:
It is a overlay (similar to the steam overlay) for only TeamSpeak 3(currently but will be expanding). It allows you to see who is in your channel, receive and send chat messages.

https://projectkryptonite.com/home

or

just google "Project Kryptonite" and it should be the first result.

No one can tell you whether a specific program or mod can get you banned. Only Valve knows what can trigger VAC and they aren't releasing that info. Generally if it gives you an advantage of any type, it's a bad idea to mess with. Beyond that, some games get triggered if any changes or mods of any sort are detected. The only real answer anyone can give you is: use at your own risk.

I see, so if anyone sees a VAC ban on my account. Then don't use Project Kryptonite as you will almost certaintly get one too at some point.

The FAQ outright says that the program works similar to many cheat methods. If you must, try it on a throwaway account with TF2 and wait a few months. It seems very likely to give you a ban.

Dammit! I got banned from my favorite game for using your software. How can I sue you?
We're sorry to hear from your banned account, but unfortunately there is nothing we can do against it.
Basically, the overlay works the same way as some other cheating mechanisms do, so it's not excluded, that it get's detected as a cheat.
Although Project: Kryptonite itself is not meant as a cheating software, the way it works is quite similar to a cheat.
I cannot do anything against a ban, but I'd suggest you to contact the game's publisher / developer.
Also feel free to file a bug report, I'll try to contact them, too. However, the voices of many are obviously louder than.
Oh, and you can't sue us. You DID read the Terms and Conditions, didn't you?

atleast the software developer admit that it is injecting into core files

So does Fraps, which is a video recording tool and uses an overlay too. Doesn't cause a ban, not even in Punkbuster.

Fraps might just as well be whitelisted.

That's not how VAC works, it works based on a blacklist, not a whitelist. It doesn't ban due to behavior. It bans by signatures.

Maybe, maybe. I bet however that it at least gets suspicious when something hooks the game.

Which is why I was asking to see if anyone knew if this would result in vac ban.
