Cheat Engine on an Offline game [SOLVED]
Hi, I know that use cheat engine on VAC servers violates Steam TOS rules and I don't want to violate them. Then, I love to do cinematics and some stuff like that with the noclip on a lot of games or disabling HUD, but, sometimes it isn't posible cause the game doesn't allow you to do that. Here is my question xD

If I use Cheat Engine on an offline game without an Internet connection (like Wi-fi or Ethernet).
Could I get banned?

Thanks in advance and see you playing :D

Theoretically no, you should be able to use cheats in offline/single player modes. However, it's risky. Cheats are notoriously unreliable, so you never know what sort of thing it's installing on your system. You can get all sorts of nasty viruses, and you never know what a cheat program might install that will mess up a game when it is connected to a VAC server. Also, you just run a high risk of forgetting to turn the cheat off before you reconnect. Then you'll have a ban just because you slipped up and likely be very annoyed with yourself.

You're safe.

You are safe as long as you dont search in the game memory while connected to a secure.
But is a good thing make sure its not even running when you are about to play on a secured server, just to make sure.

you should google csgo console commands instead (that is legal)

As long as the game is either insecure (launch a server with the parameter -insecure to disable VAC), or you have no internet connection while in-game, VAC won't ban you. I'd suggest doing both if possible.

Then, unless I connect to internet with Cheat Engine open I don't have any risk, Isn't it? cool ;)

Thanks booth, but I mean in other games like The Forest, Bioshock or other single player games that aren't made by Valve and doesn't include this feature.

First of all, check the store page, and see if the games even support VAC. If they do, just stay disconnected from the internet and you're safe (just ensure you do not open the save file that you cheated in and uninstall any cheats entirely from the PC before you reconnect to the internet).

Badstormer, I've checked the games and doesn't have VAC. I haven't got any risk for play with cheat engine :D on that games. Thanks. I don't know if I will do it or not but now I'm informed.
