How do I clean my computer of Counter strike source hacks!

How do I clean my computer of Counter strike source hacks!

My brother has downloaded and install CSS hacks on my computer to play CSS offline and now, i need to clean my computer if i want to play online on VAC servers...how do I find all so I don't get banned?

Well, as we dont know what your 'brother' downloaded or where he put them, the only safe bet is to reformat your computer.

Format it. Otherwise you have no idea what may or may not be on the system

And after format (<-this is the only way) DON'T use backed files to restore Steam, download everything again, to avoid using modified/"hacked" files of the backup.

The Only way to get 100% safe without any failure is buying your own PC, Punching your little Brother every time he gets in your room, is he the bigger one? Bite him, punch him in the guts, run to mum and tell he try's to slap you worked fine for my little sisters. When your little Brother is some weird personal thing of your own, you should punch yourself until your other site understands hacking is bad.

I suppose you're on Windows. Go to your "Control Panel" and click the "Uninstall a Program" button and uninstall the programs that you find suspicious. If not, read the top comments like "getting a new PC" or "punching your brother when he comes into the room" XD

Uninstall like any other software, and take note of the names. start menu > regedit and find entries that contain the name or a keyword from the name(you'll have to do this 1 program at a time). Delete any applicable entries. Do a virus scan and restart for good measure. Look through program files and delete relevant directories there, too.

Use common sense during this process and lock your PC. I never let anyone use my devices for this very reason.

Nobody knows exactly what VAC checks so it's good to be thorough, but registry and usual uninstallation should be good enough, generally speaking. Also, you could contact support and ask them what to do. They might also ask for the executables and names of the applications so they can use it in improving VAC.

Note that if your sibling has already connected to a VAC secured server with your account after installing the cheats, you could very well already have a VAC ban flag on your account. VAC bans are delayed so it may not show up for a while. If YOUR account did not connect using the cheats, then formatting your machine immediately is your safest bet (and password protect your computer to prevent this from happening again!)

You should never give to your brother for your password. It is your responsibility for your own account. I would suggest, you must format your PC.

Thanks all...So I see that I will definitely have to use another computer since reformating is out of the question...too much programs sn stuff on this one and don't have the leisure to reinstall everything for my work. Thanks again :)
