VAC BAN FOR NO REASON
Hello everyone,

Today I launched Steam and discovered that my account received a VAC ban because of the game Rust.
It's because of a game I'm no longer interested in, don't play, and it's not even downloaded on my computer, even though my recent activity says I launched it the previous day on 10/26/2025.
I am sure my account was hacked, and it was done by criminals.
I have always been an honest player and would never risk ruining my one and only, old account which is very valuable to me.

Dear Steam Support, I am sure you can check the IP addresses from that activity and verify my innocence.

Nothing to do with the VAC forum

Rust doesn't even use VAC, look at your profile, it's a GAME ban.

Appealing is futile as Facepunch has the same policy as VALVe when it comes to "hacked" accounts.

You are responsible for your account security and all actions happening on it.

Create a new account and move on.

And then stop pirating Steam games on your new account.
Saw space war, Didn't even read the post
Sadly steam bans are perament and WILL NOT BE DELETED. If it was hackers or even ur little brother. Cheating was on your account.

Mostly correct, except "hackers" do not exist on Steam, only scammers, hijackers and other low-life criminals.

here is a problem for you, Rust uses EAC and not VAC, so in other words, you don't have a vacban, but a gameban. Also there is no steam support here. If you actually did the very basic of going to your profile and clicking on the info button, then you will see steps you can take/try, Now coming to forums is not one of those steps. Now i know that Rust Devs are very anti cheating and won't remove any bans easily, and their rules is similar to Valve, in other words, its irrelevant who used the account, account security is your responsibility. So you are pretty much screwed.

gameban by developer - https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/46DB-4CEC-F7E9-49E5
EAC banned - https://support.facepunchstudios.com/hc/en-us/articles/214241045-EAC-Banned

I have over 1000 games in my library, I created my account 8 years ago and have never been banned. Please don't think I'm interested in hacking a game like Rust, which I played for 19 hours.

No offence but the only thing what any of us can do, is supply you the information. If they redirect you to easy website then you have to try to appeal there on that website. But keep in mind, if Rust dev's or Easy anti cheat dev's, reject your appeal then the answer is final.

Rust devs are very anti cheating and won't remove bans very easily. This is a community only forum and not an appeal forum
Derzeit sind viele Smurf-acc unterwegs :steamfacepalm:
