Paranoid over "I've been VAC Banned for no reason" posts
Looking at these posts where people complaining that they were VAC banned in error does make me a bit paranoid. lol

What if what they're saying is true? I'm on the side that VAC bans are 99% accurate. But what if that 1% roll falls on you?

Just getting disconnected during a game puts me in a frenzy. Does unknowingly playing a match with a cheater result in me being VAC banned as well? What if a windows patch or my firewall/antivirus activates VAC? I accidentally spilled coffee on my laptop and now I'm VAC banned! lol.

I don't blame VAC. I blame those cheaters. Why do they have to ruin it for others?

Maybe I should just chill out and enjoy the game.

There is literally from 0.01% chance to no chance at all that the ban is false. (Don't know the real statistics but from my experience I have never seen someone get unbanned from VAC).

I've also seen lots of these threads and they just come on there thinking 'I'll say I didn't cheat, they'll surely unban me!'.

Don't be so paranoid, VAC ban is activated by cheats so you have nothing to worry about whether you are playing with a cheater , windows patches or spilling your coffee, etc.

VAC system scans YOUR game files to identify modifications so if there are none you should not worry.

Yeah me to!
No reason ever to be paranoid if you:

• didn't use cheats, willingly or not (by "not" I mean installing 3rd party mods from untrusted sources which have included, or actually are, cheats)
• didn't use an unsecure machine (read: which could have had cheats running) with your account
• didn't give anyone else your account's credentials (this includes Steam Family Sharing, mind you)

because, even if you get banned, your ban will be rescinded quickly by Support.

Most of the time you can find the users exact name on a cheat site, second they almost always bring up that he/she let someone else play on his/her account. Valve used to come in to a topic and state something like "So how did that aimbot work?"

So its pretty darn safe.
do not be afraid if you do not use cheats then you will not block
99% of those in this thread - the creation of these cheaters

Even if one of those people were actually banned for no reason, there would be no way for anybody posting on here to confirm that. Only Steam Support has the resources to investigate whether a VAC ban was issued in error.
Yeah. These kind of posts seems to be multiplying everyday. Does that mean more and more players are trying to cheat?

I bet when summer comes, there'll be an explosion of VAC Bans... lol

Of course. If you dig deep enough you'll find that most person claim they have been banned for no reason do in fact cheat or lent out their accounts to other people that may have cheated on their accounts.

Once in a blue moon you'll find one person who was falsely banned, it's been so long I don't remember when the last time that happened.

so you mean ppl where call: banned for no reasn lies?
Here's a quick flowchart as to how you should feel

Question 1) Are you cheating?

No? -> Nothing to worry about

Yes? -> PANIC
I've been on Steam since the night it launched (over 10 years), I have put tens of thousands of hours into the Counter-Strike franchise while on Steam. I'm not VAC banned and I have absolutely no fear of being VAC banned, your fears are perpetuated by nonsense spread through the community.

Sometimes false bans DO happen, however it's such a low chance of it taking place it's as if it doesn't even happen, like one or two people a year, and when it does they get reversed.
I haven't ever seen a false vac ban. However I have seen a plentitude of cheaters not being banned. And I mean they play for weeks on end, and no ban is issued onto their accounts. I am part of a team that reviews demo's of suspected cheaters on our day of defeat server. And there are a surprisingly large amount of people who don't get vac... So I wouldn't worry about getting vac'd if you are clean... On that note though, recently I have seen a few people who have had vac bans in other games (different set of game has a separate vac ban) unable to join our server due to vac recently... Like they've had a team fortress
Classic vac ban, from like 3 years ago. Been playing DoD:S for months and then get told they vac banned from the server. And so if say if you're clean you're good. and if you get banned in any game you may lose them all.
No need to be paranoid !

As others has stated, most posts are an attempt to get unbanned when they know that they have cheated; and the percentage of those who did recieved a ban wrong, I feel for and they are adjusted back to normal as soon as possible, so just don't let posts get you paranoid !!! GL
barred 7 days in CS? but doesn't that ramp up beginning from 30 mins?
