Of course if you're not 101% sure if the cheat is not active/running, you'll get a ban if you connect to a VAC secured server. Which I think it's just a matter of time now, since you used a cheat.

As others have recommended, you should format your comptuer to be 100% sure of being free from whatever cheat you installed.
CS:GO uses a version of the Source engine. It may still detect it.

we are not discussing what cheats you can get away with at all. Did you even read the thread?
I did. It was a very short thread and the OP openly admitting to using CSS cheats in the past and being worried about being banned because the cheat is still installed on their computer.
If the OP was truly worried about it, they wouldn't even need to post here to ask. Simply, uninstall the hack. Problem solved. No hack installed, no hack to be detected.
It seems the OP is still inclined to using it if not in CSS then probably in some other game that their cheat supports, so from my perspective it appears they simply want to know what they can get away with.
