Can you get VAC Banned by mistake?

Hi

I didn't have time to discuss this because I didn't care but I used to play Black Ops 3 years ago and yeah I was good sooo good. What supersized me that that one day I wanted to play and was bored and found that I got VAC Banned I laughed at that and I took it as a complement but I wondered was the ban caused by a report or does the anti-cheat ban someone based on finding a malicious program which will be impossible I only run YouTube in the background to listen to music nothing else. If it was because of a report from other players is there someone to checks the claims before deciding to ban someone.

your ban is correct and permanent. if it had been falsely applied it would have been removed a long time ago

Yeah, it's possible to get banned by mistake. Your account, however, was caught cheating and its ban will never be removed.

No. VAC bans cannot be appealed. If a VAC ban is issued incorrectly it will be automatically removed after investigation, but Steam Support does not manually remove VAC bans applied to accounts for any reason.

You CANNOT modify Activision games AT ALL without it causing a ban. Even the main menus are VAC secured.

It's not like I posted this to remove the ban or anything like you said I didn't care that time about it I knew that a big company like Valve wouldn't even care about me as an individual because I wouldn't be able to reach them to discuss so they can investigate the matter. (If a VAC ban is issued incorrectly it will be automatically removed after investigation) the question who investigate these things or did why even tried to do so I didn't get a message that said anything about (After the investigation we approved of the VAC ban that you have received and it will not be removed). I am guessing they have put a lot of faith in their anti-ban system and how people can't even do anything about it. Moreover idk how VAC ban works but Riot games detects cheats during games and ban you during the game. While in steam after coming back from work I tried to log in it was written that I was banned that's why I think it was from a report.
