Permanent Account Ban
Apparently, I've been banned for no reason (or at least an undisclosed reason). I've submitted an account recovery ticket twice and, after two days, I've received no response. I've also received no correspondence as to why I've been banned.

I've dropped several hundred dollars on this game (including a 1-year subscription to ESO Plus) and I've been playing since January 7th, 2020. If nothing else, I would just like a reason as to why I've been banned...

Bans rarely happen without a reason. Bet you were cheating somehow.

I have add-ons installed, but I have a cursory understanding of game coding, so I don't see how I could. Also, if I was cheating, why would I drop several hundred dollars on a game...?

There's a reason and it'll be one of these:

1. Use of cheats, hax or exploits.
2. Repeatedly abusive in chat.
3. Account sharing with a vast difference in IP address.
4. Account has been compromised.
5. Doing a Credit Card charge back.

I've seen several of these threads. Usually very experienced players , who know where to look, find out and let you know on the thread.

1. No, see above comment
2. I've used the other term for cat once in a whisper to my best friend who didn't report me
3. I only have one account and I play in one of three locations -- at home, my best friend's place or my private workspace.
4. I suppose that might be possible, but wouldn't I receive correspondence for that?
5. That is sort of possible. I attempted to purchase the actual game, but the charge "didn't complete", according to ZOS customer service, but the charge never fell off of my card, so I reported the charge to my financial institution.

thats why ... you did a chargeback and are now being punished for it

The charge still hasn't fallen off of my card, though. And I've still purchased the game through Steam. And this charge back was almost two weeks ago. Why is that banning material and do you know of any way to fix this?
dadmannwalking Feb 27, 2020 @ 7:26am
I waited for until the transaction had been approved before rescinding the charges. This was also after the ZOS customer service told me via email correspondence that the charge "hadn't been completed" and that the funds would be returned to me.

Given that I've not received the product that I've paid for, but the funds are still missing from my account, how does that make ME an idiot or indicate that I've cost THEM money? They've basically stolen money from me...

If you sent in a support ticket asking for clarification on why you were banned, do NOT bump the ticket. This puts you back at the end of the queue and could account for why you haven't received a response yet. If this isn't the case, let us know what your ticket number is so we can investigate the status.

Well I have an insurrance for these kind of things. If this should ever happen to me (why ever, can happen faster as one thinks) they´ll pay the bill. The insurance costs 0,9% of the card-bill. Maybe your card provider offers this kinda service too. :cinnamon:

I can dispute the charges, which I did after the logical progression was followed. I'm hoping that this gets resolved as I've already put hundreds of dollars and hours into this game and I've only gotten to play it for a couple of months...

However, I still don't understand why disputing a charge that shouldn't be on my account is grounds for a permanent account ban...

I didn't write down the ticket number for the first, thinking that I'd get some kind of confirmation like I have with tickets in the past, but I did write down the ticket for the second: #:200227-001313.
