GameDog and VAC
I have recently installled Gamedog to try out the health bar rgb set up and I was thinking if there is a possibility that you can get VAC banned because of it. I have played an offline match with bots to try it out. I have uninstalled the app now and I am looking for a straight answer if I can join VAC secured servers again without risking my account. I think it doesn't inject anything into the game, only using the info about health, kills, ammo etc and also fits into the category of hardware config. If someone would be kind to tell me if I have done a major mistake, or I am just overreacting, please?

Apparently not but as always, things like any external programs are use at your own risk.

This program has existed for a long time and Valve should really consider specifing what kind of programs can or cannot be used. I mean if you can't get banned by using razer synapse, you shouldn't be banned for this. STILL, thank you for your contribution, I have only used it for 30 seconds tops and the removed it from my computer.

The problem is liability, VALVe focuses on as less third-party programs as possible, it not only means less workload but also less maintenance time.

Usually programs that interfere with VAC are simply blocked and VAC throws an error.

Now with Trusted Mode that becomes much easier.

Bot matches are VAC-secured.

Gamedog is fine. It uses the CSGO game state integration tools. Accessing these do not trigger VAC.

Valve telling everyone what causes VAC bans defeats the purpose of VAC and helps cheat developers.

Can you tell me what program or software caused my VAC ban?
No. We do not disclose the cheats that were detected while connected to a VAC-secured server that resulted in a VAC ban. We have detailed records for each VAC ban, however, releasing this information would only benefit cheat developers. The VAC team regularly investigates claims of false VAC bans to increase the effectiveness of Valve Anti-Cheat.

Use caution when installing any game modifications like scripts or custom skins, and only download custom content from trusted sources. Hackers may maliciously disguise their cheats to cause others to get banned.

This means ANY third party tool or program is USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
So, am I in risk or not. I believe that I may be suspected, but i have a clean record and i have got several correct cheater reports and maybe i have a high trust factor and prime. If all these are just useless, well. We'll see.

As always: any modification you do at your own risk. You just have to decide if it is worth the risk.

Your record is irrelevant as is your trust factor, prime account, you reporting cheaters and anything else.

Cheat detected = Account banned

Period.

...and all it takes is once and it takes less than a second.
