how to avoid getting vac ban
in CSGO/CS2 you can run the game in -insecure so that you cant join vac official servers, is there any feature like that for games such as Modern Warfare 3 2011, I'm a video editor and often use 3rd party applications to record these games and give them more functionality creatively; any ideas?
TL:DR any way to run mw3 in -insecure

Welcome to SteamCommunity, unfortunately this type of aggressive and unprofessional behavior is quite common here, in addition to the lack of reading comprehension.

Anyway to answer your question, I don't think what you're trying to do is possible, if its possible to play offline or without steam it might be, but I don't think you can do those things.

How is that unprofessional ... no one here works for Valve this is a USER forum. Even if the -insecure option works good luck with all cheaters nothing to prevent them from ruining your game.

1. he most likely means professional as in a response that is actually helpful/formal (from my understanding)
2. mw3 is some derelict game no1 plays it, im literally recording demos n reccing other peoples demos, not playing multiplayer; hence why im asking if i can essentially mod the game freely

It is unprofessional because it is a completely useless answer, that doesn't serve to help the OP or anyone else, on top of the fact that it is incredibly hostile, and makes assumptions about the OP's motives without actually reading the post.

As for your concerns about the OP encountering cheaters, I'm sure his video making goals are not that reliant on whether or not there are cheaters in the game, otherwise he probably wouldn't be looking to do it in the first place.

AFAIK "modding" is impossible for older CoD games, since VAC is always active in those.

If people stop asking the same question all the time, perhaps the answer would be different?

Useless is posting here without reading the pinned threads. When OP (generally speaking, as already mentioned this OP isn’t banned) decides to appeal their ban, guess what?

They get the same answer

Assuming that a post is one thing without reading and responding in a way that makes them seem toxic and foolish is no fault but their own. Making an assumption and acting on it without confirmation and having it be wrong is on them. Can't really blame it on others if you react without checking that your assumptions are accurate.

Modding this game is not possible. Since you got your answer I'd recommend having your thread locked by a mod, as discussions on the VAC forum have a tendency to get toxic, and since you already got what you want best to cut it short to avoid having any pointless drama, arguments, or insults.

In this particular thread, I agree 100%.

However…….

This is what I intended to reply. My bad. Point is, you made a generalization of how toxic we are. That is what I am referring to. Yes, Steam outsourced mod support (hence locked threads) but outside of their necessary involvement we police ourselves more or less.

Usually topic starters tend to argue their case after getting the answer, sometimes we have trolls with the classic “hur dur get rekt cheater” ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Most regulars here only reply when the OP comments on a reply. Yes, this place can be toxic but it has its purpose. Like a trash dumpster it is usually necessary to keep the trash in one spot than to have it spill all over the place.

Welcome to our empire of dirt, bathroom to the left, popcorn on the right, the mystic carnival of sad little crybabies all around you for your entertainment.

How to avoid VAC ban simple answer: buy a ring 1 gaming chair, problem fixed, you can play with your gaming chair for a lifetime without worrying about VAC.
