Is there a way to report someone with in-depth proof? (More info inside)
To make this story short, I'm going to just run through the basics of what has happened.
My friends bought CS GO recently, despite my wishes we started playing competitive really fast we did this often and I kinda of got a hang for my friends skill levels. I am a CS veteran and have played since 2007.
One day when playing with one of my friends I noticed he's at the top of the leader boards every day with 40-50 frags every game, while he used to only get 5-10 every game. I found this suspicious but none-the-less I was proud that maybe he had practiced a lot while I was gone everyday doing personal business. But then I began spectating him, he was staring at people through walls and it was easy to tell he was wall hacking, seeing as this was his first counterstrike game I was not surprised that he didn't know how to hide it. I asked him about it and made sure he understood he could get potentially banned. He just laughed and said it would never happen. And he continues to hack, it's very annoying as I am trying to practice and get better, and he's sitting here jumping ranks using hacks. I would like to report him, to get him to stop and see there is consequences for actions.

TL;DR: Friends hacking, doesn't understand he can get banned and says it will never happen, I would like to report him.
What I have:
.Video proof
.Steam ID

Thanks for any responses,
Turtle

You can't report people to get VAC banned, VAC will deal with it sooner or later. Though in CS GO there is a Overwatch ban that certainly would get him of the ranked matches.

Proof won't do anything. All you can do is report him.

That's what I thought, that he would feel the pain of being banned sooner or later, but he's been doing it for a week now. Nothing has happened. So there's no way to speed of the process up with reporting?

Report him via his Steam profile. Then, you can add the link of the video in the text box. When you report someone with in-depth proofs, VAC is more agressive scanning, trying to find out suspicious things.

And maybe your friend don't know this yet, but VAC is a delayed system (first flag the cheater, and when some time has passed, applies the ban), so maybe he's flagged as a cheater now.

If he was on a non-vac secured server when he cheated, there is nothing you can do.

It was Valve servers for competitive CS GO. So that's not an issue.

everything gets detected eventually, just because his cheat is undetected now, doesnt mean in a weeks time that will still be the case, all you can do now is be a good friend and try to make him stop, if he gets banned, he will hate himself for the rest of the time he is with steam.

also, typically VAC takes 2 weeks to ban someone after detecting a cheat, my guess is that he has just downloaded public cheats and has already been flagged as a cheater.

And as mentioned, even if VAC doesn't detect it (or even before the inevitable VAC ban), an overwatch ban could be coming very soon (as those are done by the overwatch volunteers watching the replay for cheats).

If it was competitive, report him, and overwatch will check it out and most likely ban him. If overwatch doesn't get to him, VAC will. If he gets overwatch banned, he will be vac banned also.

From the pinned thread:

How do I report a cheater?

As VAC is an automated system, user submitted bans are not accepted. As VAC uses a delayed ban system, the chances are that the cheater you encountered in-game has been flagged by VAC and will be banned in the near future. If you believe a player is cheating in a server the recommendation is that you contact the administration team for that specific server in order to report the possible cheater. This will allow the administration team for the server investigate the possible cheater in more depth and take whatever action they feel is appropriate.

You can also report a suspected cheater by following the information found in this FAQ.

And from the FAQ page:

Note:

VAC does not ban based on reports. Such data is only used for tracking and statistics purposes.
