Will useing Cheat Engine in a Singleplayer Game, while having CS:GO open getting me VAC Banned?
Hello,

I read a few of Threads about this, but Im not getting smarter of it.

I used Cheat Engine in Euro Truck Simulator, a Singleplayer Game. Sadly, I left CS:GO open in the Background while doing this. I did not inject anything in CS:GO and at the Time I used Cheat Engine, CS:GO was in the Main Menu, so not on a VAC Secured Server. After I recognized my Mistake, I closed Cheat Engine and CS:GO. That was a Hour ago and I can still play CS:GO on VAC Secured Servers.

So, will useing Cheat Engine in a Singleplayer Game, while leaving CS:GO open in the Main Menu getting me banned in CS:GO?

Personally I had cheat engine open while playing csgo ACCIDENTALLY a while back. In addition, I was not Vac banned. I believe you will only be Vac banned if you modify the memory of the game. HOWEVER, to be safe, I would move your items over to an alt account that has steam guard activated
This. Try to move your items over first.

I don't think you can get vac-banned for this tho. In the main menu you're not connected to a vac-secure server. And if you can prove that you didn't inject into CS:GO, you can be pretty much safe (:

That's also my Opinion, I moved the Items to my 2nd Account. Thank you all for your help. ;) I mean, VAC only works if you are connecting to a Server. I was in the Main Menu, and I didn't even injected anything in CS:GO :D

No, you won't be banned. All the people who are banned use the excuse of cheat engine running in the background but Valve can't ban just on assumption. Cheat engine would have been injected into CS Go to apply the ban as VAC scans files and processes that are CONNECTED to VAC protected games and have effect on gameplay. Otherwise Valve can't scan anything else as there are privacy laws that prevent this.

I also think that. Valve said that VAC is not Spying on your Programs

A cheat engine doesn't have to be injected - it forms as process data and all processes on a users PC as active can be tracked by anti-cheats such as VAC. On my old BF4 server; I could see everything people were running parallel with the game execution file when connected. If someone was running Shadowplay; I'd be able to see it. If someone was running any suspicious processes that were unrecognised by the anti-cheat overlay; they were basically cheating.

Based on what you explained above, no, there's no chance for you to get a VAC ban.
You only get banned if you hook onto csgo, I have cheatengine running all the time

Doesn't matter as Valve can't ban based on what runs in the background, be it porn or cheat engine. If it's not modifying the protected game Valve won't ban just for simply having cheat engine.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
