Game page says VAC ban, account says "in good standing"

So idk how long its been there but i just noticed it today, on game pages specifically borderlands two it says im VAC banned, but A. ive NEVER cheated or grieved in any steam game, and B. when i hit steam>settings>account tab, it says VAC Status: In good standing. So what is going on, me and my friends were having trouble with lag i borderlands, could this be why? Again ive never cheated, i rarely play and valve game, the last one i played was Left 4 Dead 2, with my friends all together and they arent VAC banned.

It's a bug. Why don't you read the rest of the topics created? If you know you haven't cheated or hack in any way, you won't be getting a VAC ban. Restart your Steam client, it should fix the issue.

Darn... just posted a very similiar thread... (sorry admins) - I'm receiving the same message on game pages and also haven't cheated or caused anyone any problems (that I'm aware of) and am also apparently In Good Standing.... ?

Meaning it's a bug. Everyone is having the same problem. Restart your Steam client. You're fine.

Same for me.
I was just visiting a store page and it said I'd been VAC banned from that game. I'd never played that game before or any other by that publisher. Checked the page again and the VAC ban notice was gone.
Well if it's just a harmless graphical bug then fine, but if you could get banned for no reason because of a "bug" then I don't know. Guess I'm not that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fine.
Seams like getting in contact with steam is harder for us consumers then it should be. If anything like that were to happen.

okay so in the time that i have made this post the VAC ban thing disappeared from the borderlands two page and it seems all other. can anyone explain what happened?

Everyone went offline earlier. It was probably a bug on the server end. Nothing that should worry you.

same here wtf just looking at games for the sale and balm it says I'm VAC BANNED!! Does this apply to all games or just valve games. I generally don't play valve games

Read up. It was a bug. You aren't VAC banned. Restart your Steam client and it should go away. If you know you haven't cheated or used any hacks, you won't be getting a VAC ban.
