Nvidia Inspector
Hello,

I've been playing DayZ for a long time. I'm sure many are playing with Nvidia Inspector, why don't they get a VAC ban?
I keep getting shot in trees... 😤

A) That doesn't change game files
B) "I'm sure" is not a reason for a ban
C) Stop playing if you think the game is full of cheaters

Also Nvidia Inspector is a tool for overclocking GPUs.... not a cheat.

It may not change any game files, but players still gain an advantage. By the way, I don't stop playing because of other players... @d3str0y3r: but it can apparently reduce the graphics so that you can no longer see any bushes. that favors players

And what exactly graphical settings, that everyone have access to throug settings menu have to do with Nvidia's software?

Not everyone has access to it, because Inspector is a separate, unofficial program...

As far as I understand, it's for changing GPU parameters, not in-game graphics.

You could "force-remove" certain vegetation like bushes and tree's from games based on texture filtering and other settings (LOD Bias). So basically that stuff doesn't render with the rest. Technically that is not a cheat but at the same time it does indeed give some advantage over those playing normally.

Unofficial or not, the program does the same thing as MSI Afterburner, Evga precision and so on. None of those are classified as cheats by Valve so no bans will be issued for using them.

Ahh, I see. My bad then.

Hmm okay.... thanks for youre answer🙏then that is probably official permission to gain an advantage in games 🤷‍♂️

I don't think it's good, but then that's how it is

Up to the devs to make sure that such values can not be changed on the fly.
Only shows how incompetent they are.

After all, it's on the developers to battle such things and implement proper counter-measures but people being people try to get whatever advantage available to them.

Many games have in-game reports to report players not playing by the rules, that is often the only option to get someone look at these.
