While it is true what you said, it can look like it if you are first game banned, and then VAC banned in the same game.
Valve only shows one ban per game on the profile page and the VAC ban takes priority.
So it is entirely possible that OP has two bans in the same game.
GAME bans can come from being caught cheating, griefing, or abusing matchmaking services via boosting. VAC bans come from software that modifies the game files, whether it be game modifications, cheats, bhop scripts, or skinchangers.
Regardless, this is a USER forum. You've gotten all the information you're going to get, and nobody here can or will do anything about your ban.
And that means two different anti-cheat systems caught your account cheating.
The default message in the game always says VAC ban. My understanding of it is because the game only used VAC at first and it wasn't until enough players kept complaining that VAC wasn't enough (because VAC only cares about cheats and nothing else) that the game ban system came along. The message was never updated to reflect this change.
Anyway the only things about your ban that can be done now are for you to reformat your PC, make a new account, and stop cheating. No one else here can help you because we're all just users, and Valve won't help you either since it's clear your account was used to cheat.
The general rule nowadays is anything is only actioned on with enough protest (ie reports). Otherwise they are obligated to let anything slide.
