Has Valve ever removed VAC bans?
This is just a question out of curiosity, has it ever happened that Valve removed a VAC ban? I'm fully aware that the VAC system will reverse a ban if it was falsely given, and I know it's permanent. No matter how long the ban. I'm talking about VAC bans that were given because of cheating or detention of software running in the background that was flagged (I'm not sure if this type of ban is reversible)

I just wonder if anyone made it public that their ban, despite being deserving, ever got lifted; obviously since valve would never give out that type of information.

The automation is in place to remove the burden of manually checking bans.

So in that regard, there is no manual "removal" if that is what you mean.

Highly unlikely such lifts exist.

Yes, they are removed only in case the detection was due to an error on VAC's part.

All VAC bans are constantly checked and verified.

All deserved bans do not get lifted. Period. Valve has a zero tolerance policy regarding cheating and all accounts caught cheating are permanently banned. No backsies.

Read the Steam Subscriber Agreement, especially Section 1 C.

Any action on your account, no matter by whom, even if the account was unintentionally given access to someone, is entirely on you. The ban will not be removed.

Also, you shouldn't necro old threads.

Read...

I was not using my account when it was VAC banned. Can the ban be removed?

No. Any bans added to an account will remain regardless of who was using the account at the time the infraction occurred. Ultimately, the use and security of your Steam account are your responsibility.

While we understand this can be frustrating, we must maintain a zero tolerance policy for cheating to foster a fair game that all players will enjoy.

Make a new account. And another, and another, and another. Make as much as you feel you need for enough chances. Please note that Valve has a zero-tolerance stance on cheating, however.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
