False ban by overwatch in CS2

False ban by overwatch in CS2

(Copying over my post from the CS2 community thread)
Got hit with an overwatch game ban around 12 hours ago despite never cheating or doing any of the things that apparently provoke game bans. I know there will obviously be skeptics and I can't really help that as all I have is my word, just know if I were truly cheating I wouldn't be here typing this out.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows how game bans work, I've heard that false VAC bans can be removed but I've heard nothing about false game bans, is it the same deal?

I've also heard a dozen other stories of people being falsely banned since I've been banned, does this increase our chance of getting our accounts back?

Edit: opened CS and the bar at the top is saying that I got a VAC ban but the ban on my profile is saying I got a game ban.

Same bro my accounts gone for no reason and steam support just wont answer me, I got kicked mid game when not even playing good and was overwatch banned for no reason im just not going to touch cs again ig

The 'banned for no reason ' is the oldest and most used lie we see here.
The only reason cheaters and rule breakers really are upset about with the bans is because they can't sell/trade their inventory items anymore. They want to use those shady trade sites (also known as scam sites) to cash out, something that is a violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement anyway.

Your game ban has nothing to do with VAC or this forum.

Read that. There are several reasons for a game ban in CS:GO or CS2.

Cheating, MM manipulation also known as smurfing and griefing.

No where in there does it say that your account can be banned for "no reason"

Also, as you'll notice from that link, the ban is permanent and cannot be appealed.

VAC bans in Valve (and not 3rd party) games that remain are 100% correct.

Not all game bans are correct. Maybe even for Valve games. Dota auto anti-smurf system possible. And maybe CS GO 2 if it is something new system.

Still very unlikely you can do anything with that. You can try contact Support but they useless even for steam issues.

Steam Support is for account and billing problems. They can't remove bans and shouldn't be bothered with something they can't do anything about.

Steam Support is for account and billing problems. They can't remove bans and shouldn't be bothered with something they can't do anything about.

Odd thing is that QWEEDY has been around this forum for 4 years and still doesn’t get it right

There is no such thing as Steam support. It is actually Valve support. Always been. Hardware, Software, Steam, games (Valve's), their services - anything.
That fact they are useless and dont know anything except billing typical solutions (or community moderation issues) not mean it supposed to be like that. It is just broken Steam, Valve games, and Steam Community services no one in Valve can deal with (no one who know really how this all works) so Support typical answers for anything "we cant help you with that" (with some unrevertable moderation issues too). They really cant. Not mean they shouldn't.

Im much older user than you think. But you no need to be old user - you perfectly know from Support site itself that they should provide support for every Valve products and services. As its stated in games, hardwares and services customer documentation as well.

At other hand, VAC issues in 3rd party developed games still rely to their games publisher/devs support.

There is few additional email to contact with specific issues. And github issues section for some past time.
Never be such thins as separate Support for Valve products and one dedicated for Steam. Many users here in this forum know that.

cant do anything im afraid except create a new account , i was overwatch banned is well 2 months ago, Valve does have some flaws when it comes to their anticheats. i was playing beside my friend when i got the ban , so both of us were just as confused. some examples : i have really bad ping/internet, so sometimes what i see on my screen is technically 0.5 sec faster than usual gameplay, so it would show up to everyone that i have quick reactions, secondly massive reports will put you in overwatch by other players in the game, my previous game before i got banned, in nuke hallway to B, i smoke it off as CT using a XM, heard them rushing, blindly fire in smoke, killing 4, instantly accusing me of wallhacks and saying that was obvious, funny thing was , my friend was playing with me beside me also hearing the footsteps therefore we just laughed it off, the opponents just said all 5 reported me , and voila, overwatch banned the next day. for some people its more complicated, there are also rumors that valve puts you and other massively reported players into a match , if you win that match they will start overwatch on you. and i know some players that do overwatch, which they literally told me they just click yes to cheating to get the rewards without a care. Honestly, i swapped to Valorant and never looked back, i can only say im lucky i didnt spend alot on CS2. honest opinion, just leave CS2 and its toxic community, just reading some comments already explains how toxic the community is , and while playing it is even worse.The community would be happy to see you leave cause they just assume you a hacker and its a complete waste of time explaining to them, and you dont have to stress about this game ever again and its toxic community. win - win situation if you ask me
