Incorrect VAC bans are removed automatically, but Steam Support can't lift them manually.
VAC bans are delayed what you were doing at the time is irrelevant. Your account was used to cheat either by you, your son, or some else. Anything that modifies the game files is considered a cheat regardless if it give an advantage.
This is not any appeal forum, nor can you appeal VAC bans.
VAC bans are permanent, non-negotiable, and cannot be removed by Steam Support or by anyone on the forums.
VAC bans are permanent, non-negotiable, and cannot be removed by Steam Support....and also cannot be removed by anyone on this forum.
VAC bans are delayed from the time of the detection to the time that the ban is actually applied. What you were doing when the ban was applied, is irrelevant.

Why the account was banned:
all VAC bans come from the detection of a known cheat, whether it is used on the account itself or some sort of sharing has occurred (account, library, or phone number).
Users are responsible for the security of the account and all activity on the account.
Can you tell me what program or software caused my VAC ban?
No. We do not disclose the cheats that were detected while connected to a VAC-secured server that resulted in a VAC ban. We have detailed records for each VAC ban, however, releasing this information would only benefit cheat developers. The VAC team regularly investigates claims of false VAC bans to increase the effectiveness of Valve Anti-Cheat.

Oh yes we are soooo jealous of your pointless skins in a video game. If you didn't cheat then it's a pretty safe bet that scam site you just advertised for did.
There are skin changers, but those can only show the skin in game.
If such thing as Inventory Changers would exist, Valve could easily terminate your account for fraud and stealing from them.
That's exceptionally hard to believe.
You should have remembered what got your account to be flagged to be banned. Its an exceptionally limited set of circumstances for your account to be flagged to be VAC banned, so you ought to remember that your account is on borrowed time.
