I got VAC banned because of family sharing

Why? Who even thought this was a idea? I didn't even own CS:GO when I got VAC banned. And why does it have to have to make it impossible to play on certain multiplayer games? There is no way to remove the VAC ban I just have to suffer the rest of my life for something I didn't even do.

Vac bans are issued for known cheats being detected on the computer while the account was connected to a vac server.

Anything that tampers with protected game files is treated as a cheat regardless of it giving an advantage or not (skin changers, etc). Steam/Valve will not release any information about what was detected, that information will only help those that cheat and make cheats. VAC bans are delayed, what you were doing at the time of the ban being applied is unlikely to be what earned the ban

You are responsible for the security of the account and what is on the computer(s) the account uses. It does not matter who was using the account to cheat.

No one on the forums can remove nor investigate a ban. Only falsely applied VAC bans are removed automatically by the system at a later time.

This is not a ban appeal forum. You cannot appeal a VAC ban. Nothing you post is going to get the ban removed.

the ban is permanent, you are responsible for the actions of the accounts you share your library with.

@Unn4m3d (♥AUT♥) don't know if he even did cheat, believe he was in a lobby with a hacker. It just sounds like some corporate bs to put all the blame on the consumers, to not hold Valve accountable in any way.

being in a lobby with a "hacker" is not going to earn a vac ban. vac bans are for the detection of cheats while connected to a vac server. reread the statement a few more times until is sinks in.

cheats were detected on the computer, ban was issued. its that simple. your account was library sharing with them at the time, so your account gets the ban as well.

if you want to argue about the ban, talk to your friend about it. no one here can remove the ban. no one has ever gotten a vac ban removed by posting on the forums. go look at the 1000's of others that have posted before you, none of them got a ban removed. do you think you will be the first? I dont think so.

@Wolf Knight it's just quite infuriating to get VAC banned for the worst reason. VAC bans should be banned. Imagine someone getting imprisoned for being a friend of a criminal when they don't know they are a criminal. And also, I think the VAC banned should be lifted after 5 years. My opinion is that it's illogical to ban someone for so long and with a so idiotic reason. Imagine stealing one thing and getting punished by never be able to do a single thing in life for the rest of your life.

they tried temp bans, they did nothing. as soon as the ban was lifted from an account, it was used for cheating. didnt matter how long the ban was for.

you are the one responsible for what your account does and which accounts you share with. you only share with people you know and trust. if they break that trust, you have to deal with the consequences.

do you think arguing with us is going to do anything for you? its not. make a new account, start over in the game

your analogy is really flawed and has be used many times by others. your criminal record stays with you for life, a vac ban only stays with the account and you can walk away from it and start over fresh.

no, only some will commit more crimes. some will change and be a productive member of society.

the account is a tool, nothing more. the tools used to commit the crime and simply taken away from them for that game. your not banned, the account banned.

@Wolf Knight I have made a new account before, I lost access to that, also, it isn't about CS:GO I don't care about that trash game. I have used 1000 of dollars on this account and that VAC ban makes me unable to play some multiplayer game that I already own. And also you say "some will change and be a productive member of society." Why isn't it the same with CS:GO? Some people will not cheat another time. Also why aren't there at least 2 chances you get? I got no chances. I didn't know I was going to get a VAC ban because of family sharing. I didn't find out that, that was the reason for my VAC ban before today. Also, if you create a new account, what's the point of a VAC ban? You can simply just create a new account every time you get VAC banned.

Yes, those "some people" are free to start over on a new account.

You can argue all you want, at the end of the day you have only yourself to blame. All the information was there, you used Family Sharing with that person anyway.

Problem with your logic is that you agreed to the punishment when you made the account in the first place. Your opinion on how the punishment goes is invalid
