Lift VAC ban after time
I feel that after a certain amount of time, a VAC should be lifted from an account, however, not until a specific amount of time has elapsed. I was thinking that 5 years after an account has been banned it should be lifted and the player is given another chance; which would result in a permanent ban if the account is found cheating again.

Thoughts?

Was tried until 2005.

Cheaters recycled accounts after they got unbanned.

Hence Valve made it permanent.

Nope. Does not work. Cheaters return to cheating.

Of course you feel that way, seeing as you are Banned yourself.

As already noted, Cheaters just keep cheating. Permanent stays permanent.

look on the bright side, after 7 years the vac ban notice will stop showing to the public. you will always see it, and the ban will always be in effect.

temp bans were tried, they did nothing. make a new account and start over, that is your 2nd chance.

Nope.

Play on a new account. No CS2 beta for you.

this was tested many years ago. valve discovered that most often people go right back to cheating.

so its much easier to give permanent ban then never change it, its less work too.

best regards to all current and future vac bans =)

VAC bans are permanent because people abused everything thing Valve tried.

When they tried temporary bans, cheaters returned to cheating

When they removed bans from compromised accounts, cheaters found away to abuse that to.

Cheaters forced Valve to make it a Zero tolerance policy.

Yeah I cheated in CSGO 7 years ago and got VAC banned which sucks because I'd like to play on my main again. I didn't know Valve previously tested out a temporary ban system. Thanks for the information.

That's what Valve should change. Stop hiding VAC ban notices when they get to the seven-year mark.

Account security is your responsibility.

Nobody hacked your account, you didnt secure your account properly.
Took me not even a minute to look through your groups and see suspicious stuff.

It's always the same story.
