careful what you wish for. For a VAC ban to be issued, it is enough that cheats or hacks are on your computer, or that protected game files have somehow been tampered with.

Your ban was issued a long time ago, therefore it is safe to assume that it was issued correctly.

Request steam to delete your vac-ed account, run a deep format on your pc, set up a fresh acc, start over with a clean record and never cheat again.

VAC bans are permanent, non-negotiable, and cannot be removed by Steam Support....and also cannot be removed by anyone on this forum.

VAC bans are delayed from the time of the detection to the time that the ban is actually applied. What you were doing when the ban was applied, is irrelevant.

all VAC bans come from the detection of a known cheat, whether it is used on the account itself or some sort of sharing has occurred (account, library, or phone number).

Just Make a new Account and Stop spending money on the Banned account The more time and money you put in this Banned account the crappier you will feel after a couple of years so just make a new one.
Valve says they now ban for Client side Skin changes. If you play on secure servers.
I do however agree on the idea people having a second chance with there account especially when SOURCE 2 CS comes out it would be like a different engine game in a way so maybe they can do something about it.

Possibilities have already been given in the past and abused, with lies, reuse of cheats, garbage accounts on which cheats were reused, and admissions of having used cheats.
90% of the banned users in this forum are liars, the Vac is and will remain Permanent.

Valve started working on a "long-term solution" for cheating in 2001. VAC's initial release was with Counter-Strike in 2002. During this initial release, the system only banned players for 24 hours. The duration of the ban was increased over time; players were banned for 1 year and 5 years, until VAC2 was released in 2005, when any new bans became permanent.
