Does vac ban for using community patches?
I recently made a support ticket, only to get literally 0 information out of it. I was wondering if vac bans for community patches - specifcally t7patch on github for Black Ops 3. It provides no player advantages, and only fixes RCE exploit issues along with FPS issues. Does anyone know if vac would ban for that?

Steam Support is obviously not going to tell you what causes a VAC ban.

Third party patches and mods are ALWAYS use at your own risk.

ANYTHING that alters protected game files WILL cause a VAC ban.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use caution when installing any game modifications like scripts or custom skins, and only download custom content from trusted sources. Hackers may maliciously disguise their cheats to cause others to get banned.

Further, you CANNOT modify Activision games AT ALL without it causing a ban. Even the main menus are VAC secured.

if it alters the game files in any way, you're at risk.

they can include or exclude which files they protect at any time, and without warning.

cheaters have used previous 'non player advantage' mod plugins to hook cheats into counter strike, for example (years and years ago now), and without warning, valve ensured that all files that could be used in that way were picked up by vac.

so its at your risk. don't be sad if you get a lifetime ban for it, you were warned here.

The COD games are VAC secure even on the main menu. You cannot mod COD games at all and play them online, you will get banned.

Any type of modification for all MP Call of Duty games will result in a VAC ban, except MWII/WZ2 which will result in a Game ban since they don't use VAC, they use Ricochet.
