It's automatic. But your ban is 348 days old, so if your ban was going to be removed, it would've already happened by now.

If the VAC was a mistake it would of been removed. Weather it’s cheats, skin changers, or anything that alters a protected game file; it will trigger a VAC ban. I don’t believe you one bit, OP.

That ban is correct or it would've been automatically removed a LONG time ago, it will never be removed.

You may not have cheated on the account, but someone did and it doesn't matter who it was.

VAC bans are permanent, non-negotiable, and cannot be removed by Steam Support....and also cannot be removed by anyone on this forum.

VAC bans are delayed from the time of the detection to the time that the ban is actually applied. What you were doing when the ban was applied, is irrelevant.

Why the account was banned:

all VAC bans come from the detection of a known cheat, whether it is used on the account itself or some sort of sharing has occurred (account, library, or phone number).

Users are responsible for the security of the account and all activity on the account.

vac only activates due to cheating.

the ban is permanent, as in, forever. eternity. till the heat death of the universe.

Oh, shocker. Multiple (3, Hammer seems chill/smart) "gamers" who don't understand how AC's work but wish/pretend they did. Never could've guessed that would happen... It's even more embarrassing considering the amount of time these commenters put into their accounts lmao. Seems like whether you're a child or an elder doesn't matter, noobs be everywhere

A cheat that is known to VAC is detected almost instantly. The account is then flagged for a ban. The application of the ban is what is delayed for the reason here:

It should be noted that VAC employs the use of delayed bans in order to disrupt the development process of cheats - a ban imposed today may have been the result of a cheat detected by VAC two weeks previously.

So you know how it is presented/supposed to work. Neat. Super cool of Valve to fight cheaters by allowing them to continue playing with real gamers though lol. I'm not even a programmer by any legit means in the way of schooling or career but I still understand how the software works/can malfunction, come on now

You can't stop cheating...not entirely. Why?...because it's not a cheating problem. It's a human one. Valve knows this...you would too if you really understood the issue at hand. VAC bans accounts that cheat, it CANNOT stop people from cheating.
