Does a VAC ban mean My account isn't in good standing??

This question is more in regards to the Steam Deck Giveaway coming up. It says account must be in good standing and I have a VAC ban from 8 years ago. Totally my fault, I was a dumb kid in college who thought cheating was edgy and cool. But does that now exclude me from this giveaway? Not asking for a removal or unban but just clarification in that regard. Thanks everyone for your time.

If you have a vac ban, your account is not in good standing. You can check yourself

Steam (Top left of screen) Settings-> VAC status.

Yeah I figured that was also the case. Either way I'm screwed. They happened I believe within like 60 days of each other. Like I said, no point in crying over spilled milk. Is what it is and just gotta live and learn. 'ppreciate all the responses from everyone.

Yeah it is what it is really. I messed up and I'm not gonna make a new account as I've poured myself into this one. I learned and haven't done anything since then, was just curious as to what my standing was as far as the giveaway.

Well atleast you know what you did 1,107 day's and I still don't know, I assume it was me injecting music into the game for while I was surfing. I do know my game ban though I used a VM with battle eye.

The anoying part is that every one thinks VAC bans mean you cheated in reality they are not 100% and they ban you for multiple things that are not cheating

edit: I just realized what got me banned it was process hacker, process hacker is what I was using to inject the dll for the music functions I was adding.

No, you have been feed some BS if you believe that...

all VAC bans are from a single reason. Cheats being detected. Period. Maybe on an account you are sharing something with BUT the reason is always CHEATS.

VAC bans are ONLY for detection if cheats.

But it doesn't have to be you.
Either the account was hijacked, or someone you shared libraries with did it, or the same phone number was connected to both accounts.

BUT in the end all of this is still "cheat detected, account banned". Nothing else.

while this is not technically cheating, it is messing with the games memory\files which in the eyes of anticheat software is cheating. might not be fair but you are warned that messing with game memory\files is against the TOS and can\will result in a ban
