Are logitech gaming software macro G-keys VAC legal?
Title
I have a logitech G910 with G-keys on the side which can be macro'd to actions
for example pressing Q+W+Q then R for invoker in dota
Is that bannable? Looked online and couldn't find a definite answer
Thanks

Short answer, no.

VAC bans you if it detects cheats on your system.

So the Logitech gaming software that comes with their hardware is considered a cheat?

No it is not.

No it is not.
so consequentially, you can use the macros within that software?

Yes using the software will not cause you to get banned, though some people consider macros scummy but there are no rules saying you can't use them.

i believe using macros is still a gray area...

from pinned thread:
"Any modification to a game which allows for one player to have an advantage over another player may be considered a cheat."

in this case ur not modding the game but u might still get an advantage over others by using macro so...

It's a huge gray area, but I think it needs to be addressed officially.
Like surely pro dota players dont use macros in official matches right?

Unless we are talking CS:GO, you can safely use it.

I agree. Its not a mod but gives you a advantage. Might not be detected by VAC But a lot of players will detect it and report it and get you banned that way. Just if they give proof. And a lot of players will consider you a douche

and i dont think you'll get any official yes or no here...you might have to ask Valve directly or something...

From what I know, you can NOT get a VAC ban from micros, BUT you can (in theory) get a game ban (don't ever really happen tbh).
