I wouldn't risk it. Doesn't that game have any cheats that can be activated through console?
the mod is youngneil's heartcore mod
people have said that theyve had CE running and just not hooked the vac enabled game (why the heck would you? lol) others have said that they've been banned with it running in the background, others have said that they just do a reboot to clear the memory to make sure VAC doesn't pick up on it.
as I understand it CE, and this is what it says on the wki is: is an open source memory scanner/hex editor/debugger created by Eric Heijnen ("Dark Byte") for the Windows operating system.
it's a program that lets you change values, that's it. it's not inherently evil and only used for cheating in MULTIPLAYER games. It can be used to change the written coded values in singleplayer games to, and in the case of the YSA mod for KoA:R it's actually improving the game by making it more difficult.
i'm not defending the program (CE), but I'm also saying that it doesn't seem to be made to be purely for cheating in MP games, gaining unfair advantages against others. In the case of SP it's just for the player. and it has the unintended, intended application of cheating in MP too.
Source: From a person who actually has experience with cheat engine, and has never been vac banned.
What are you getting at? Use it in amalur, kill the cheat engine process in task manager and you're safe. If you dun goofed and left it run to play cs:go, you have no one else to blame but yourself. It doesn't matter how "safe" cheat engine is, it's Valve and whoever else running the system's rules. If you do not like the system rules, you best not enter the system.
Well if you get vac banned from just leaving it on, sucks to be you, I guess.
So the fix to avoid all anti-cheats is to install it outside of each game files folder then...?
No it isn't. It's for single player games "Cheat Engine is an open source tool designed to help you with modifying single player games running under window so you can make them harder or easier depending on your preference". It's not made to be used in multi-player games, it's a cheat! Therefore it gets you banned if you use it in a multi player game.
