Suspicious Discord DM about a ban appeal

I was recently DMed that my steam account was close to being perm banned by a user on discord because they reported the wrong person, I was told it was for illegal purchases, I haven't bought anything on steam since October of last year. They told me to dm Nachoo#1781, which I did. He asked me several questions including for a screenshot of my purchase history and then he asked for me to give my phone number (even though I've already verified it through steam). I don't know how the appeal process works for account bans because I don't think it would be done through discord, and I would think I'd get an email if my account was close to being banned, yet I've received none. Before I give this possibly scandalous discord user my full phone number, I want to make sure the tag I mentioned is a real steam mod in the first place.
Any help would be appreciated because I'm really suspicious about this.

Just to be sure, do this:

- Check for an API key and immediately revoke it: https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey - This field should be blank.
- Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
- Change your steam password from a secured devicee, not your current computer

Update, it happened for a second time in a week, I guess these scammers really like my steam being linked on my discord profile.

Discord is very popular with scammers right now as Discord does nothing against scammers and the average user is very stupid regarding account security.

Most likely as Qbert assumedyou already been scammed. You share your credintials. Now they need to avoid your SGMA, for do this they need fool you a little bit more. Do what Qbest advise in a row. API-key should be completely empty. This is for developers accounts.
