Vac on non-vac server

Can you get vac ban if you play online but never on vac secured servers?

EDIT: context: I'm worried because sometimes I cheat in single player games, mostly with cheat engine or wemod, a couple of times with some game-specific trainer. I don't like online PvP or MMO or things like that so I just don't play them.

But I'm going through my backlog and I wanted to play grid 2, but if those programs can trigger vac then maybe I'll pass....

I would advise not doing anything that could trigger VAC, on secure servers or not.

If a game is Vac-enabled, ALL SERVERS are vac-enabled by default.

The only way to play with cheats is on -insecure servers.

And be aware: the system will absolutely detect that cheat, so... better just NOT download that cheat.

But my question is do you still get vac if you decide to play on insecure server?

If they are single player I don't see why they would have an anti cheat (unless they are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ always online ones maybe) cheating in single player games is fun, I don't know of any exclusively single player games with VAC enabled.

No, but the fact is that we see way too many people here who "forgot" that they had the cheat installed when they went back to a secure server.

It is literally best not to use any cheats. I don't know what game it is you want to use one in, IS it vac-enabled? Those are usually reserved for online / pvp type games and you say you don't play those. Check the store page or google the game in question, and see if it even has Vac on it or any other cheat detection.

I'm not worried about the SP games, I know you can't get vac there.

I'm saying or asking if I play something like grid 2 can VAC detect those single player cheats on my pc?

Grid 2 does support vac, so... I'd say "you should not do that". Like I said, if the game is Vac-enabled, ALL servers, regardless of whether they're inhabited by just you or if there's anyone else, are vac-enabled by default. The only things i've seen is back in 2015 they were putting vac on their game. I don't know the details about it now.

Ok. Thanks then. Maybe I'll play grid 2 on a new rig before installing anything else just to be safe.
