Banned via phone number

I recently got a ban on my account due to giving my friend my phone number to setup his phone authenticator up as his sim card is broke. I started cheating without my knowledge and mainly because I couldn't play with him due to rank difference. I woke up to a ban because we was on same phone number when he got a vac ban. I think steam should make it in big bold red text that this can happen to you by sharing your number or I never would have. Also I hear there is a cooldown before the number can be used again. This doesn't make sense as they wont unban the associated account after that time period. I had a $70 knife on there and like I say its a bit bollocks they don't ram it down your face that game bans are shared like that otherwise I wouldn't have shared it. How can they unban the phone number but not the account associated its a bit ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and seems like they just go eh ♥♥♥♥ it not my account.

1. Look at your profile. The account that you are posting from right now, has no permanent bans showing. Explain what you are talking about...

2. You are warned when linking accounts by a phone number as to what would happen to all accounts linked to that number, if cheating occurs. You are warned of these consequences EVERY time a phone number is linked to ANY account. Your fault for not reading those warnings.

There are no restrictions placed on phone numbers that were on an account when the account was VAC banned; phone numbers can immediately be used on new accounts.

Your fault for not reading.

A message pops up EVERY TIME you link ANY account with a phone number. That's about as direct as it gets.

Can I share my phone number between multiple accounts?

Ok and at what point did that appear when I my friend asking for my number me saying yes, me giving him my number him setting up his auth and me giving the auth code to him?
