Vac Banned 2415 days ago but still playing?
Hello,

I was in a competetive game last night. I suspected people I play against and reported them. Later I decided to watch the game with xray and I was right, he is cheating and not the only person doing it.

Anyways the problem is, when I checked this Kungfu Kenny 's profile, I noticed that he was vac banned 2415 days ago. But I was playing against this guy and screenshots proves it his last game was on 11 May.

How is this even possible?

His VAC ban is for a different game.
Cyortonic May 11, 2017 @ 5:46am
It was most likely VAC on a different game.

how come different game? VAC is VAC. if he's cheating in one game, he will cheat some another vac secured games and he is.
He probably got a vac ban for a different game. If he is cheating on competitive , then vac should get him on csgo too.

A VAC ban does not mean he is banned from all VAC secured games. If he is cheating on a different game he will eventually be banned from that as well.

this is nothing but letting people cheat and throwing other players' effort to garbage. he cheated before, valve knows it. Still lets him play and where's my 500 hours of effort go? If he's cheating in CS GO too he will get banned okay but what about my lost elo and time?

why do I lose my rank and time because valve doesnt do anything for people that known as has cheated before? WHY? this is ridiculous.

when a cheater gets banned , any matches you played with said cheater will be negated. So , if you lost to this guy , your rank should be restored.

Even so, I dont get my time back tho.

I'd understand if his account didnt get banned for cheating before, but it did and he still can play with that account and steal my time. this is what pisses me off.

If you feel your time is wasted playing videogames, stop playing.

DUHH.

I must have missed following statement before I spend my money on this game:

"CS GO is full of cheaters and we dont do anything effective about them. plus we let them play other games of ours even if they cheat in one. you're accepthing this term by purchasing this game."

No idea how it is where you are from, but here you won't get a higher punishment for a bank robbery just because you COULD commit other crimes elsewhere, like crossing a red light.

Also, there will NEVER be no cheaters, it's human nature. What do you want to do against that? Place a person with a gun behind every single one of your opponents to shoot them as soon as they do something fishy?

Do you have issues with cheaters or just people in general?

You got the answer to your question, which with a little reading you would have had on your own, without posting.

Some games share VAC bans:

What games can I play if I've been VAC banned?

VAC banned accounts can still play single-player games, local LAN games, and multiplayer on non VAC-secured game servers. To find non VAC-secured servers, from the Steam main menu click on View, select Servers, then select Not secure in the Anti-cheat dropdown.

Cheating in one of the following Source games or a Source mod will result in a VAC ban for all games in the list below:

Counter-Strike: Source
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Day of Defeat: Source
Team Fortress 2

Similarly, cheating in one of the following Gold Source games will result in a VAC ban for all games in the list below:

Counter-Strike
Condition Zero
Ricochet
Day of Defeat
Team Fortress Classic
Half-Life: Deathmatch
Deathmatch Classic

Lots of game devs use VAC, and that would be one reason why VAC bans cannot be applied universally to all VAC protected games on an account. Another issue is bans cannot be applied in the future, you cannot punish someone again and again for the same offence.

CSGO was released in 2012, the VAC ban you refer to is 6 years old.

As for not getting your time back, you never do, in any situation, anywhere. This is how time and life works. Learn to live with that as throwing childish insults at people will only waste further time.

I wish people gave this reaction to cheaters instead of to people complain about cheaters cause you guys make me feel like getting sick of cheaters is worse than actual cheating.

I dont have a problem with people in general but obviously neither do you with cheaters.

thanks for your tremendous opinions.

Name calling when provided information on how things are is all I have an issue with here. Nobody here made the rules, they just tried to explain them.

I do understand how you feel, but it does not change how VAC and Valve operate, or the reasons for it. In fact, that ban is near the 7 year mark, and then it will no longer be publicly visable on the profile (with out a bit of effort), which is something I have a major problem with.

And personally, I dont care how old a VAC ban is, I dont want to associate with people who have been banned at all. Thing is, people can cheat and then make new accounts, and you will have no history of their previous cheating. I remove anyone in my friends list who gets a ban, but I am pretty sure there statistically are people in my friends list with previous bans, at least in this case you can see it, for now.

None of this is relevant to the topic though. You reported the user for what you saw as current cheating, thats the maximum you can really do as a user.
