Wish to dispute Game Bans from H1Z1 KOTK and H1Z1 Just Survive by Daybreak
Last night, I used my VPN to watch a show on Netflix that isn't available in my region. As soon as my VPN connected me to my chosen region, a Steam notification popped up next to my account balance in the client.

I could not read this notification until i disconnected my VPN and reloaded Steam. I was notified I had received two Game Bans in both H1Z1 titles from Daybreak, even though I only own H1Z1 KOTK, which I hadn't played since June 1st.

I have contacted Daybreak and gone through their appeal process, filled out their form and sent them txt files of my dxdiag and msinfo32. I received a response from Daybreak telling me that my ban would stick, that I violated the Terms Of Use, the ban is permanent, and they would no longer answer any of my questions regarding my banned account.

Honestly, I already knew what kind of developer Daybreak Games were, but it seems unreasonable that they're not providing me with a reason for which I have been banned, or at least tell me which chapter of their Terms Of Use I have been found in violation of.

At the end of the pinned Game Ban thread, it says I can contact Steam Support if I find the developer to be unreasonable. I don't care about the fact that I've been banned from H1Z1, not that I would ever play again after something like this. But it really bothers me that my profile now says I have 2 Game Bans on record, and I would rather not set my profile to private just to avoid further reports in games like CSGO when people check my profile. I've been looking through the Steam Support page for a way to contact them about this, but I can't find any page where I can open a ticket regarding this issue, or a form to fill out for disputing game bans on Steam.

I am refraining from completely removing H1Z1 from my library and account altogether until I can contact Steam Support, and provide them with my conversation with Daybreak and the same files I gave them. If anyone knows how I can contact support regarding this issue please let me know, because their support/help page does not lead to such a thing.

This should tell you enough.

Sadly, the pinned thread is kind of outdated (Good on you for actually reading it though). Steam support has nothing to do with bans anymore nowadays, and as far as i've seen, developers only make the decision in game bans, i haven't seen support do anything about this anymore.
Edit: As mentioned below by snaggle, pinned thread says you can still contact support, but don't hold your breath on anything happening.
Best you can do is post on the game forum as said above.

It says "The duration of the game ban is determined by the developer. Only permanent game bans are displayed on the user’s profile. Temporary game bans, or suspensions, are not displayed."

my bans are displayed on my profile, therefor they are permanent. I don't want to get unbanned, I just want the game bans to not appear on my profile

This will not happen as they are there for good so either accept it or use another account for the future.

Steam makes this public information to alert other players and servers that will block you from joining them.

Also even if you set your profile to private anyone can see you have these on your record as it's public information.

Good news, you just have to wait seven years. At least that's the case for VAC bans, no idea about game ones.

It's written in the SSA that you cannot use a VPN.

Did you actually read all of it?

It's really frustrating to be in this position. It's also hilarious that i'm banned from a game I don't even own... And regarding Daybreak's response, it's not enough. It's one thing if they said "you have been banned for cheating", or "you have been banned for violating the Rules of Conduct", or whatever. But the fact that they can arbitrarily choose a 3rd party software that has nothing to do with their game (which wasn't even running at the time) and forever stain my steam profile is reaaaaally dumb.

It might or might not be. Only the developers have this information.
It doesn't prevent the fact that you cannot use a VPN.

No wonder you changed name.

the hacker names came after I got the game bans, I changed back to Ohveer9000 so Steam Support wouldn't address me as Mr. Hacker.... If you can't get the joke in those names im sorry

If it was running while not playing their game it would not had triggered a game ban.

Something you did before while playing it caused it and they can be delayed weeks or months or longer so it was not this one incident.

None of the pinned threads say support remove the ban. All they say is to contact support. This could mean support forward the details to a different department within Valve that take care of this. In the case of VAC bans, they forward it to the VAC team. We know support don't remove bans but that doesn't mean they won't do something else instead. Please stop advising people against contacting the support team. Unless it is removed from the pinned thread it is valid.
