VAC scans your computer or device for KNOWN cheat signatures. It is impossible to have an anti-cheat system that bans 100% of the cheats 100% of the time. It takes time for Valve to update VAC to keep up with the new cheats. There isn't an anti-cheat out there that can detect every single cheat in use. VAC is an extremely well made anti-cheat with very very high accuracy.

I have cheat engine in my pc never used it but i have it from long time ago and didnt get vacced , so how does it scan my pc we all know cheat engine is vaccable

Unless being used to cheat in a VAC protected game, CE only causes an error....

Cheats may trigger VAC bans, some of them do not need to be enabled.

whether using them or not, if active. they can definitely cause bans.

Which means, if you ever install any cheats, they can be active.

Also remember that even if you see claims that say "it's not going to cause a vac" ... you don't know with 100% surety what it is you're downloading and installing.

It might be 'safe'.

It might be incredibly UNsafe.

Why would it ever be worth what might go wrong? A vac ban is the least of some folks worries, downloading random stuff on the internet thinking they're getting something else entirely.

No i don't have any kind of cheats (beside cheat engine) in my computer, never downloaded,
i was just giving example cause the topic was kinda how vac works.
