VAC cannot verify account
So at first VAC kicked me from the game after 1-2 rounds saying that it couldn't not verify me and something might be blocking it. Then when I tried to rejoin it says that I was in a competitive match which I wasn't, it was casual. Now it wont let me join any game saying that VAC cannot verify my account. I uninstalled CS:GO and reinstalled it and it let me into a game for 2 rounds again and kicked me, and now I'm having that same issue. I've searched for possible solutions to fix this but nothing works, or rather nothing applies to mac computers. please help.

Same here..
Mac Catalina 10.15.3 updated yesterday, played all day after update until I was kicked.
Never had any game related software on my computer, all games on steam I do play in basic casual mode only. No new applications where installed on my computer for past 3 month.

P.S. did everything what Steam suggested in that link to do and even more, as lurked through google for a long hours today.. And yes I tried to turn of firewall, and allow Steam to control computer, and tried vise versa.. and reinstall amd install... but nothing happens.

To this cocky guy in comments who can't stop copy paste "Steam guidance for resolving this issue" - nothing wrong with our system apart it's not compatible with steam like that was before, when we need to go to library and erase files and other stupid stuff to make steam run on newly updated mac version.

Guys let's address this to Steam to get this sorted as loads of people are affected and can't play
Fingers crossed Steam will resolve this issue asap..

Another mac user who got this error! Really annoying.
Tried these ways but none worked:
1. re-install
2. check integrity
3. go offline and go back
4. clear cache using the command in page 1.


Seems it's a bug for MAC users. Can any MAC user play csgo now? Hope for more data, thanks

when I try to join a game after this the message says-

Matchmaking Failed
VAC was unable to verify your game session.

I have been playing on the same computer for about 2 months with no changes to software or installing new programs. I'm stuck on what I should try next. I would like to be able to try and the instructions on restoring boot settings or repairing Steam services but their are not instruction on how to do these tasks on a MAC computer

Look around. Do you see anyone with a post counter here? Post count existed on the old Steam forums...not here. Posting your Steam Support ticket here, does nothing.

Everything I've posted in this topic about that error, is correct. If people choose not to believe it, that's on them. However, ignoring it will not fix the error.

bro shut the ♥♥♥♥ up it's clearly an issue on Steam's side. Macs can't play after new update, its not our computers. You're not helping

What CCGuyver said is really confusing. The original post said in the beginning that it's a MAC (so am I), but he kept saying "PC XXXXXXXX", and "What I said is true, no one will help you".


Despite the fact that many MAC users said they got the same problem, CCCuyver is still repeating those words. I have to say, It's unhelpful at best and toxic at most.

The error is the same, no matter what operating system you are using.

It is not a Steam issue. Again, something on your computer is blocking VAC.
