VAC banned for Mordhau while not cheating/hacking.

I was recently playing Mordhau. Before i started playing Mordhau i was playing 7 days to die and Mount and blade warband (Warband was not on steam). While i was playing mount and blade i was using cheat engine to cheat in some money and party members. When i ate dinner, i left my PC on and forgot to turn of cheat engine. I didn't know it was on when i started playing Mordhau which i was going to play because i saw some guides on you-tube which i would want to try out because i am still pretty new. So VAC saw cheat engine as a cheat and I got banned. Funny part is that you cant even cheat in online games using cheat engine (can't change values on a server, only client sided so why even bother). Also I wasn't aware i could get banned for a program that was active on my pc in the background. Because i also played CS-GO a while back with cheat engine open with the same story as here. To be honoust, I don't mind that i cant play the game because I just got the game on another account, it still sucks to have the GIANT red letters on my profile that's puts me in a corner as a cheater while i didn't do anything wrong (Will be super fun, playing any online game will be harder for me because i am not ♥♥♥♥ and get called out for a hacker all the time. So will be banned sooner for no reason which i already get on a regular basis). After spending so much money on steam i really feel betrayed, can't help but feel otherwise. Is there a way anyone can help me ?

all VAC bans come from the detection of a known cheat, whether it is used on the account itself or some sort of sharing has occurred (account, library or phone number).

Users are responsible for the security of the account and all that happens on it

CE only causes VAC errors unless being used to cheat in a VAC protected game...
