Discord can in fact get you banned? Or should i say COULD.
A while ago my friends and i were playing csgo, and it was great i loved playing csgo with friends. The bad thing though is that my friend loved using discord so when he started using discord overlay he was happy until he kept getting banned on every account he made and used the overlay on. Then one day i thought that they had fixed that (cause discord overlay is in no way a cheat or a bannable offense) but guesss whaaat??? I got banned... for no reason. this only happened the day after i played with discord overlay (the only time i EVER used the overlay as i had turned it off the next day) I have a full colored inventory my inventory was entirely blue and i was happy about it and worked hard for it and now its all gone cause valve cant figure their ♥♥♥♥ out...

Back when Discord overlay was fairly new A LOT of people were getting banned for it on a lot of different games including Destiny 2, but unlike valve bungie realized they were in the wrong and unbanned those who were banned for the overlay. Thanks valve No wander more and more people are growing to hate you guys...

Discord does not cause bans.

Discord is not a cheat.

If that was the case, over half of the CS:GO players would be banned right now and the forums would explode with fury.

Bans are delayed for days, weeks or even months. What you did the day before a ban appearing on the profile means nothing.

If it was not the discord overlay then it was nothing and i was banned for absolutely no reason and i was not given a reason why. I could go through and show everyone every single game i ever played in csgo and i have never done anything even close to cheating. I've spent a lot of time and money on this game i had no reason to cheat. The fact that there is no proof or anything of that sort given for why i was banned is absurd. there is nothing that can explain why i was wrongfully banned.

This makes noe sense there was no answer there. I didnt even know that a skin changer was a thing... ALl of the screenshots i had on that account were from 1000+ hours in the game of finding people with good skins and picking them up and screenshotting them

I have also raised this with valve support but they refuse to do anything at all including give me a reason or proof of my ban. The fact that i can play 1000+ hours on an acct before getting randomly banned and then playing on another account with the EXACT SYSTEM for another 900+ hours and not be banned is ridiculous.

I do not understand why you are putting That link as it is no help and it still doesn't not explain the banning as i have done nothing wrong except play the game for a lot of time and spend a lot of money on it....

There is just way too much info explaining why im just an innocent csgo player and that i was banned unjustly. Valve has NO info or reason for suspicion on this issue. I have done nothing but support valve and play their games but what do i get in return? An unjust ban FOR NO REASON! If you want me to get any info to support this i will GLADLY do so as this is very upsetting..

VAC works on a database
You can't get banned for something they don't know. So getting banned for having the discord interface is impossible because even if it was new, the database still didn't know what it was and wouldn't have triggered a ban.

That still does not explain the ban then that is the ONLY thing that can come even CLOSE to explaining why i was banned.

Did you enable family sharing on the banned account with anybody else?

Do you share a number on the banned account with anybody else?(I’m assuming no since you’d probably link the number to this account, which isn’t banned. But just in case you didn’t link it to this one.)

Did you ever enter your Steam login information on a site or app that wasn’t Steam?

Did you download ANYTHING else to change the files of CS:GO, or change the way it’s played.

Did you change the game’s files yourself?

Maybe you’re lying about not cheating and are trying to convince us and Valve that you didn’t cheat so the ban can be removed. Which would be a futile effort and wouldn’t change anything.

Any question I’m missing here?

3. The only thing I've done that with was one or 2 gambling sites which at the time was 100% (legal? idk how i should put that). And i made 100% sure that the site was trust worthy and everything was safe. and i know for a fact that any sit ei used was safe and would 100% not lead to a ban. My info for both my accounts are only known by me and only me and the only person allowed to touch my pc is me.
4. Absolutely not. the only way i have ever changed the files is 1. changing settings and 2. changing the font (which is in no way a bannable offense)
5. of course im the only one allowed to touch my PC. the only change i ever made to the files is changing the font (which once again is not a bannable offense)
6. I have never and never will cheat as i find that if you have to cheat to play the game you shouldn't play at all. And i will state AGAIN if you want any info to prove i never cheated you can speak to any of my friends and you can go through every single little bit in my PC. i have never even THOUGHT about cheating and never will as that would give me an unfair advantage against other players and i know how bad that feels as I've been in games with cheaters.
