VAC Ban On Linux Ubuntu

Hello everyone! I have a question. I want to buy cs go but i scared about (free ban) so if i will not use cheats on linux i can have a ban or not!? And also im not even a cheater.

No cheats = no ban.

Would be silly if you would get a VAC ban just because you`re using Ubuntu.

What if you are using a non-Ubuntu based Linux i.e. Fedora, Korora, openSUSE, etc. can I even install steam on those and if so is it safe? VAC ban?

Yes, you can install steam (I use Debian 10 "buster"). Yes, it's safe.

Frankly, I have to ask, I installed Steam and CS:GO on Ubuntu too (but on my laptop), but is there any "cheat engines" that can run on Linux-based OS such as this?

But so to say, as long as you don't have any third party cheats installed or injected to the game that is VAC-enabled, you'll be fine.

Sure. There's even downright proper malware for Linux.

Sure. There's even downright proper malware for Linux.

Even Windows and Linux are the same, but my teacher at college said that Linux malwares are in small percentage than Windows.

There's less malware for Linux overall and Linux malware tends to target servers first and foremost. Doesn't change the fact that "Install Linux & go worry-free" will bite you sooner or later.

There are many free tools, but unfortunately most of them are consoke-based. If you prefer GUI (what you obviously do) I suggest you to use gameconqueror. You can install it from your default repository in most Linux distributions. But I shoukd warn you that it, no doubts, worse than Cheat Engine.

Ah, I see. Even if my teacher says "Linux is safe" doesn't mean it's always be safe from such things like virus or malware. Figured as much.

A huge issue with Linux is that for a lot of people, idealism is involved. You know, idealistically-correct FOSS vs. the evil capitalism of Microsoft. And as soon as idealism is involved, factual knowledge (heck, even common sense) is usually quickly out of the picture. Not that there's no braindead Windows fanboys out there, but at least from my experience, the Linux crowd is more vicious.
