A macro that consists of 2 keys pressed can give a VAC ban?
I use a Logitech G502 mouse which has G-Keys and I use the Logitech Gaming Software to create my profiles for each game.

If in CS:GO I use a macro in one of the G keys that does:
Press and release 3,
Press and release 1,
Which basically it would allow to switch from the knife back to the primary weapon by pressing one button (key) only.

Are VAC bans issued if a macro like this is used in deathmatch, casual, matchmaking, etc.?

Thanks

If it does not alter or touch the game's files or dlls, it won't be tagged as a cheat, necessarily.

HOWEVER: if your BEHAVIOR in the game is detected by other players and they BELIEVE it to be cheating you may run the risk of being reported and given a GAME ban if the Overwatch decides that there's something fishy going on.

So unless it's actively changing files, no it won't necessarily flag a VAC. But if it's seen as fishy by real people, even if it's just innocent fun on your end, it may garner a GAME ban.

This can be like....
1 player is using 1 certain tipe of mouse to gain advantage or install hacks on it and so he is baned . . But there are other 5 players using the that same tipe of mouse with no purposes ,just because they have like and buy that mouse...they are banned too...
Because 1 cheater ,5 legit get ban?

I assumed a simple macro wouldn't give a VAC ban "directly" since the one I'm referring to doesn't alter or touch the game's files/dlls, although I understand how it can be seen as an advantage.

The macro would be used when playing with the AWP so that I could make a quick weapon change pressing just 1 button, which is how I like to play but my mouse has enough G buttons to allow me to assign one button for the knife and another for the primary weapon, so I'll just keep playing has I always played, pressing both buttons.

I was just curious to know if there were any specific "rules" for simple macros and if they could be flagged (reported) which could lead to an Overwatch issuing a game ban, which I think it makes sense.

Thanks for the replies, appreciated it.

Why on earth would the developers of CCleaner be arsed to steal people's accounts?

Can it be done using ingame s commands? Yes. So it should be fine. To be safe create if in your config file with your key binds and settings and bind it to a key. Then on the LGS assign that key to one of the G502s buttons.

For example I have one that switches to my knife and keeps stabbing until I release the button then switches back to the weapon I had before pressing it in my config

alias +quickstab "use weapon_knife; +attack2"
alias -quickstab "-attack2; lastinv"
bind "o" "+quickstab"

Then assign o to Mouse5 or any button on the G502. No scripts on the mouse then. Just a keyboard shortcut.

Ask in the CSGO forum how to do what you want. Sure someone will know

I have in my autoexec.cfg an alias called "netgraph_toggle" which is bind to a key. I never thought of doing the same for the "quick weapon change" in the autoexec.cfg, it's easy and very fast to do, thanks a lot for the idea. :like_yellow:

This works....
bind "del" "use weapon_knife;slot1"
