Can you get VAC banned in CSGO for having GTA V cheats?

280 days ago, I received a VAC ban for an unknown reason. Backstory: I was playing CSGO with friends and received a 7-day temporary cool down for abandoning a match one too many times. So, I used my CSGO alt account to play CSGO while I waited for my cool down on my main to reset. Eventually, I signed back into my main and immediately after signing in, I received the VAC message. When I first got it, I thought it was a glitch and laughed and told my friends I got a VAC ban. They didn't believe me and were freaking out when they viewed my profile. It didn't hit me until it reached 10 days and I still had it on my profile. I became annoyed and frustrated. I tried contacting steam support, but was told it's be no use since all VAC bans are final. I feel like I was cheated, I still had like $20 worth of inventory that is locked. Its not much at all, but it is still wasted money. Also, if I were to cheat, I would use my alt for that. I have too much on this account. Now here's my issue:
I despise cheating and cheaters. I don't understand how it could be any fun. It takes the purpose out of the game. I am guilty of one thing though, I downloaded Maverick GTA V cheats to play the game without having to do all the heists for money. If you've ever been in an online GTA lobby, you basically have to have cheats in order to do anything. That's why I always did close friend sessions. Anyways, I only used a money cycle and XP cycle. I only have a few hours in GTA V. So I didn't really play it much as I found it boring and no objective. About a month after having these cheats, I get a VAC from CSGO. This is the only possible way I could come up with me being banned. I don't know how VAC works, but I do know for a fact I have never cheated in CSGO. I uninstalled the Maverick cheats moved on. Here's the weird thing though, my alt account to this day is still perfectly fine. My friends who also had the cheats didn't receive a VAC. So I'm wondering if it's possible that valve detected my GTA V cheats and that is why I am banned. Because I totally do not think I deserve a ban. Not from CSGO atleast. And if anyone knows what I can do to remove this VAC ban, that'd be very helpful.

No. The cheat must be injected to the game's files to trigger a Vac ban.

game A's cheats do not get you banned from game B unless those cheats has some sort of malware that auto executed a cheat for csgo. in any case vac bans are permanent and cannot be removed. lesson of the day is don't have any sort of cheats if you play on vac secure games.

Thank you. Yeah I definitely am not going to download cheats ever again. It just annoys me because even though I don't play CS anymore. I get kicked from servers in other games like Rust and Squad for having a VAC ban on record. But.. lesson learned. I just wish they would release why you were banned. Or what triggered it, because I really want to know.

unfortunately letting players know what got them banned would only serve to aid the community that develop cheats. they would know exactly what works and what doesn't.

That will never happen - it would only help cheat developers to "improve" their cheats and avoid detection.
